in my opinion When people are not positively in control of their lives, they are Unable to unite with others in good faith. Natural tendency toward snd desire for healthy Social fabric being torn apart, self preservation and maintaining the status quo -to avoid unknown harm - keeping with the devil you know, remains the daily goal... Being subsumed by the idea of survival whilst imbued with a sense of hopelessness , They glom onto the very next savior seeming type of being , and all objectivity is lost. There are always those lurking in the shadows to snatch up despair and it as a weapon against humanity profit from the wreckage. Spiritual mental physical social.

One problem with the ambiguity of the matrix quote is that in history there does come a time when ARE movements worth believing in. Having strong beliefs does not necessarily mean one has been taken in. But it does ring true when people are taken in by manipulation and corruption to act against their own interest, it can be nearly impossible to illustrate that.

I want to agree but I think context matters. Otherwise it’s like a fortune cookie or astrology. You can appropriate it to anything. Facts are different than interpretation of truth.

Rain is always rain and rain is important in a general sense. But receiving rain is good during a draught whilst problematic during a flood. .

Manufactured consent can be made to look authentic. As can authentic consent be made to look manufactured.

The quote from the matrix while I can agree with it in certain context can also be used to aid corruption. Though I suppose that goes for anything. I need to think about the quote more. I liked it at first then something didn’t sit right. But I’m not sure the problem lies with the quote itself. I’ll get back to you 🤔😊😛

I think there is a lot of truth to the matrix in many ways. And this quote specifically can refer to a herd mentality of people that are blissfully ignorant and unaware. To those that choose to think a certain way because it's the most comfortable and convenient. It's something people can't see. It's funny that sometimes by not making a choice it defines them solely by their lack of choice.

I have never even watched the Matrix but this is so true. Look at the covid cult they are not seeing any bodies piling up not seeing or hearing ambulances but they believe this is a pandemic because their TV tells them that.
