Would you go into a portal if one opened in your house?

You are listening to music and all of a sudden the hairs on your body raise up and you hear an electric humming and all of a sudden some portal doorway opens in front of you. You can peer in a bit and see a landscape but can't make much out because of electrical discharges. Would you be up to a new challenge and be willing to walk through it? But make up your mind fast because the image is fluctuating meaning the doorway will close within a few minutes. What would you do?

Go for it or wuss out?

I know I would jump right into it, once in a lifetime opportunity for someone as curious as I am, would do as much as possible to judge if I would "land" safely enough but I am going either way.

Dogs maybe, but how are you going to call in sick if you are 1 light year away? They wouldn't get the call in for a year. By that time you would have been fired.

I’d put on the interstellar movie soundtrack on my AirPods, grab a knife and leave a sticky note saying I’m going on adventure then step right through.

First thing I'll do is borrow someone's dog.. Put a leash on it.. Throw it in 👌
After 10 seconds I'll pull the dog back to see if:

a) it is still alive
b) if it still has all of its skin and hair
c) if it's traumatized

After that I'll make an assessment of the situation, grab my best Pikachu onesie, and hop in that sucker.

i will live streem it and try to send the phone/camera in it so i can see what hapen on the other side, schream for my friends fromt he house to come and see.
But not knowing wher it will take me will be a stupit move, i can be take enywhere, deser, jungle, other planet...

I’ll grab my phone and take a photo or video as well while going into the portal. It would be hopefully a better place than what I have been in my mind.

Or if a portal is randomly opening up in front of me that I can walk through and instantly be somewhere else, maybe I don't know as much about what's possible as I thought I did and I'll still be telling stories even after I'm dead. If one impossible thing happens, who's to say another couldn't?

I throw my mobile phone in there. It got GPS tracking so if my friends and wife wanna go there, we can just track my phone.

I wait until they come back and ask them if they wanna go there. We can use airplane. If they don't I just cancel the phone service. I already lost my phone like 14 times anyway while I was drunk. It is not a big deal to lose one more.

You need to get a disposable cell phone and when you lose it call yourself since you can't call anybody to call you. I've had to call myself several times when I've misplaced mine.

I usually can't hear things from miles away though. I spent too much time in the nightclubs next to the DJs and speakers. It especially doesn't seem like it will work in the portal case unless it is very close like to my bathroom. That would be convenient unless my phone lands in the toilet water.
