What else would you expect from Disney? All they do is buy franchises, milk them for what they can, and destroy it along the way.
That show in particular has some unique problems, though, and it's causing interest to dissipate and/or shift elsewhere.
First and foremost, Favreau and Kennedy have been butting heads over its direction since before they even started filming. Kennedy hates and knows nothing about Star Wars, so she has attempted to dismantle and rebuild it into something it never was or could be, the most glaring product of which is that horrendous sequel trilogy. Favreau is a lifelong fan of the universe and wants to preserve its "space western" or "space opera" legacy with more traditional storytelling. It's not without flaws, but the difference is obvious. These two directions are incompatible.
It would be unfair to not point out that the first season of 'Mando either saved Star Wars, or at the very least temporarily revitalized it. Had it not been for that show not only singlehandedly carrying Disney+, but also overshadowing Rise of Skywalker, it's very likely that Star Wars would've been down and out last year until further notice. Everyone hated "The Resistance," "Rebels" has mixed opinions at best, and the more recent "Bad Batch" is practically getting review-bombed for its uncreative writing. This is also why I personally am not particularly excited about Dave Filoni presumably taking over in the future, because while his approach is preferable to Kennedy's, it still suffers from the overly kid-friendly/centric stuff he excels at, while Star Wars is meant for be for everyone. At the end of the day, Mando and Rogue One are widely considered the only good Star Wars content Disney has had anything to do with, and it's largely because of their grittier depictions, relying on original trilogy style, and better characters that tell their stories through sheer presence moreso than crappy dialogue.
The Gina Carano thing highlights a very ridiculous trend in entertainment where a mob of idiots who aren't even the show's core fanbases or audience can directly influence the course of a show. Gina is, by all accounts, very well liked by virtually everyone at the Disney set, but Kathleen Kennedy was the exception, and like all tyrants, she hated seeing a person, -another woman- who she disliked being more respected than her, especially when she lives and breathes off the concept that all men are trash and hate strong women. There's also a very stark hypocrisy in how they used the excuse of her political but not partisan anti-fascistic mob Twitter posting that allegedly got her fired, when the show's actual star regularly posts blatant propaganda and falsehoods without reprisal. Knowing absolutely nothing about the situation, an onlooker's immediate thought would be that the showrunners are blatantly sexist, but of course that crowd was mostly silent.
Gina was offered an opportunity to return to the show, but she turned it down, and even though I mostly like the show and her character was one of the best ones, I actually agree with her decision. At it's core, this whole thing was over standing up for what's right, and if she had taken whatever deal was offered, it would've been more of a sellout on her part than an apology on Disney's part. The blowback from this is pretty bad though, the whole franchise lost a lot of it's less diehard fans, and frankly the spinoff show "The Book of Boba Fett," has more people interested than Mando Season 3. In no small part because Temuera Morrison is a far less controversial actor and likeable person than Pedro Pascal, AND it still has its likeable, "cool" female costar (for now).
Mandalorian was always a shitty show. The disneyification was unbearable. Baby yoda being the focal point of the series... PG action that belonged in 1960s batman.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/v7iQlMDnyT4Omg a FEMALE is a lead character in a Disney movie 👹👹👹💥😩😩😩 OMG WOKE, I hate this libtards 🤷🏽ββοΈ🐌👓💍 anyways, #MAGA my guy. These feminazis are wild
@doopayo. That's not the issue. The issue is that the original character is a masculine character. The newest James Bond was going to be female until there was a hue and cry from the audience, and finally the producers relented.
Why can't masculine roles be men and feminine roles be women. Should Princess Leah suddenly become a tranny?
@doopayo The question is why? What is the need and/or driving force behind wanting to "gender bend" everything?
Someday you will be forced to think for yourself.
@doopayo. "Not the characters gender, race, or sexuality"... right, because gender, race, and sexuality, don't effect who people are or what their experiences on life are.
THIS simple fact eludes your left wing puppet masters.
@doopayo. My "problem" is not the movie, my problem is the overt indoctrination of young people like you through the "education" system.
@KrakenAttackin but if you think about it Topgun was very subversive in promoting and normalising homosexuality.
Iceman
"You are still dangerous, you can be my wingman anytime"
(Your hot, you can f*ck me in the ass anytime).
Maverick
"Bullshit, you can be mine"
(No I'd prefer you to f*ck me in the ass).

If this is real, then it'll flop, just like everything else they do, nowadays. Damn Disney sure does love losing money! That girl is cute AF though. But she looks like a cosplayer, so I'm not sure this is real.
Looks cool, but Iβm more of a horror guy. That being said, I actually liked Spider-Man (the early 2000s one) and the avengers. I just hope Disney doesnβt ruin my beloved Alien.
It's going to PG. It's also going to be woke. Aliens isn't PC so they will be called interstellar dreamers or undocumented lifeforms.
I see what you're saying but Sabine has been a fan favorite for years. Not exactly a WOKE thing to me. Disney's played pretty fair overall with both Marvel and Starwars and rarely fall into politics. Gina made statements that were extreme on one side only. The side I agree with mind you. But as a company I completely understand not wanting anyone to say ANYTHING negative about politics. It explodes into negative controversy no matter actual truth of the matter.
Star Wars sucked since disney took over Lucasfilms, but not because of this stuff, they just made bad movies and hoped for the best the name Star Wars is enough to keep the money flowing.
Disney knows how to make money but is otherwise run by idiots of the highest order.
@OlderAndWiser. Which is a shame. I went on a Disney cruise with my Daughter and it was absolutely first class.
Not a big star wars fan but it's a interesting pick.
lol. Feminism and this Progressive left needs to die.
best not to judge something you have not watched yet
i don't tolerate disney crap anymore. won't watch any of it
When will women be forced to fight on the front lines and not protected like some lesser soldier?
Get woke, go broke
How dare you?
Just ruined my day
Don't care.
It's gonna fail
