Do most anime character look white or Asian to you?
Most 3D and video game characters, like Tifa, tend to look Asian and mimic real Asians. But most 2D anime people look white, to me. They don't have almond-shaped eyes, and their hair colors aren't black (the only colors full-blooded Asians can have). In fact, anime people usually have green, blue, purple, or pink hair "naturally."
I live in South Korea. While not all Koreans have the almond-shaped "Asian eyes," a good 90% of them do. Some of them have round eyes, so they look half-Asian or Asian/white mixed, and some of them have medium-dark skin, as if they're tanned. But they are all still Asian. They're just the minority.
This question was asked before, and Japanese and other Asian animators generally said "they don't think about things like Asian eye shape, and such. These features aren't important to them. They think more about telling a story." When asked more about it, they basically implied that this is how they see themselves on the inside. That they don't see, notice, or acknowledge "Asian" facial features or traits. Which also explains the unnatural neon colored hair commonly found in anime.
In short, it's a cultural and artistic choice to draw "white looking" anime characters. They also imply they think of some of the most beautiful people in the world, and they just happen to be white. Only the West, especially America, tries to make everything about race. Most Asian countries are homogenous.
Yes, Asian countries CAN be pretty damn "racist" at times, but it's more like xenophobic than actual racism. Most Asian cultures are very secretive and private, and don't like sharing their culture with others, even within the same continent. The Japanese, Korean, and Chinese are just as cold to each other as they would be to a black or Hispanic American. However, they don't see things in terms of "race" like more diverse countries do, such as the US.

South Korean have most mongoloid out of all Asian. At least 40% Japanese and most Chinese according to statistics have double eyelid
But I don't see how they are white. I mean you can tick they don't look like any race but white? Just because they have blue hair which white people don't have either
I looked online though and they said half of all Asians have normal eyes. Even though I rarely see it here in South Korea. I can tell when a Korean looks "Western." Maybe it's just my part of Gyeonggi, though.
In my opinion, Asians (especially the women) barely look "Asian" without the double eyelids. At best, they look half white or mixed race. But that's just my interpretation.
Without the double eyelids and with fair skin (the tone that Caucasians have, not the pale Asian skin tone), they will look "white" in anime. That's just how I feel about it.
Well, I'm not white, so to imply there must be some racist/self-absorbed undertones there that only white people would think that clearly Caucasian looking animated characters look Caucasian, is inaccurate. Like I said, people see them and they see "white" looking characters. Nobody actually said they were white.
Also, nobody once cared about Zoe Saldana playing Gamora. I don't know where you pulled that from in your MyTake. Nobody cares about a non-white playing Starfire either, except the Starfire from "Titans" looks like absolute sh*t and nothing like the character whatsoever, with race having nothing to do with it. The actress looks like a late 30s black woman who smokes a pack a day, when Starfire is supposed to be a 6'0" athletic young adult female with orange skin. And black girls have accurately cosplayed as Starfire as well. So the Gamora argument is ridiculous and a strawman, to me.
This seems like it's all in your head and you're projecting it onto "white people." It's not nearly that deep and you're the one overthinking it. It'd be like looking at a Jamaican in all black clothing and short hair and him getting offended because you thought he was African American when they generally have the same skin tone and complexion.
And for the record, I don't give a sh*t about race. And I think arguing over race is the dumbest sh*t ever. But it's foolish to think humans haven't developed the ability to distinguish racial traits and facial features in others and that pointing them out implies that they're "racist" cause that clearly Caucasian looking person is actually one of those oh-so-common blonde haired, blue eyed, 178 cm Japanese women we see so often.
I'd say the biggest thing that works against your argument, is the realistic My Hero Academia image you posted, where you can CLEARLY SEE that the animated characters don't look like their real life counterparts.
Again, no one said that they WERE white. Just that they look white. Cause they do. Hispanic people (from Central America and Spain) have far more recognizable facial features about them, so they don't look like most light-skin Hispanics either (although they can sometimes pass for white or European, as well).
Thing is anyone won't look completely like real life animated characters. Because they have non existing nose and eye's are very big ur would take 1/3 rd of the face this is what making realistic mean
Which features exactly look white to you? I have written so many reasons why they look like Asian with double eyelid. But what exactly is white about them? Really I am not able to see it. White people rarely have Neotaneous cute features

The "Asian" look would have pale skin, double eyelids, inverted triangle faces, and "flat hair" that sticks close to their face, instead of voluminous hair (although hair is kind of a moot point and anyone can change their hair).
And as I said, these looks seem to be rare among the Asian population (in my opinion). And even THEY here all look like they had a white American father.
I always saw round face as Asian trait more. White people usually have squarish trait plenty of Asian girl with peach skin or whatever I literally had posted Asian girl with big eye's her eye's were rounder unlike white girl with big eye's
All of them are not mixed actually lol they're just singer's or model or actress this look is very common among Asian singer's. And they don't look mixed to me go to Hokkaido it is in Japan if you don't know many girls like them
They do not look "white" that is just merely a projection, biased view, nothing more. The father of anime culture is Osamu Tezuka who was inspired by Walt Disney (you know those big eyes?), it was pretty much characteristics that were common with Disney work, there was no ethnicity in there, even Astro boy does not really look like Asian person nor American/Slav/etc. They are Japanese, they do not draw "white characters" or Wester characters, that is, like I said, mere projection by people who see whiteness in them (till the point it is specified that said character is from those countries).
Also, they are simply simplified, you can fit millions of people that would somehow resemble said anime/manga character, because they do not really fit in any human bone structure nor said characteristics of Western/Europe/African/Asian person.

It looks anime. Which I know is Asians. But just judging on the illustrations, I think made conscious choice to make them more “general” looking for wider audiences.
Thinking about it more carefully my percentages are off. But then I also watched a lot of anime that has more non-Asian characters. Most notably Full Metal Alchemist, which takes place in a psuedo German country.
I can understand why you think so. You should watch silver spoon done by same mangaka you it take place in Japan very good anime you would be able to tell differences
