Well, voted "Other," but this is a bit of a cheat since you did not - beyond the poll - specify which kind of movies. So this question put me in a bit of childhood nostalgia trip.
To wit, put me down for Rodan, the Gargantuas from "The War of the Gargantuas," and Godzilla. The old Toho science fiction movie classics that I ate up as a kid. Rodan, whose flight generated all those winds. The Gargantuas just looked cool - scary for science ficion monsters - and of course, Godzilla. Well, he was "The King of the Monsters" after all. (The new modern American version is just a cheap imitation.)
Of course, if you meant horror movies - which based on the poll I assume is what you meant - then I vote for the demon in "The Exorcist." Although Damian Thorn from "The Omen" trilogy is my favorite horror movie villain, for sheer spookiness, Linda Blair's head doing a 360 is hard to beat.
Also, for second place I would throw in vampires, though oddly not Dracula. I much prefer vampires as portrayed in the "The Night Stalker" and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" starring Darren McGavin. Those were vampires - one male, the other female, respectively - who knew how to be vampires.
So a complicated answer. However, as monsters, pure and simple, those Toho monsters are hard to beat.
thats the whole idea as 'other'., no rules ain't it great
I like different ones for different reasons. I like the classic (often Universal) monsters... Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolfman, The Invisible Man... but there are others... King Kong, etc... Tor in Plan Nine... Chucky, Michael Myers, Jason, etc... as well as more modern monsters... some of the characters in the Bioshock games - Splicers, etc...
I also like the villains who are not monsters in a literal sense, but still monsters in a general sense of being villains. The "Shadowman" in Princess and the Frog... lots of the Disney villains... Darth Vader, etc... I have to say, though, my favorite is... well... to avoid spoilers... I liked... the villain you'd never see coming... in The Last Man on Earth (Vincent Price film based on the 50's novel I am Legend by Richard Matheson)... but that's a technicality.
I love a good giant animal movie (shark, snake, gorilla, etc.) But i guess from above i’d say werewolves. I enjoyed movies like Cursed, Mortal Instruments, Goosebumps, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, American Werewolf in Paris, Twilight Eclipse
Vampires! But like, actually scary ones, not Twilight ones. 😂 I want to see a bloodthirsty monster not some immortal pretty boy.
i agree i like my vampires crazed not sparkling and twirling, ah ha

The unexpected ones like killer pets, cars, clowns etc... like Stephen King type stuff
Ones with actual story, rather than rehashing old stuff for the thousandth time. For example, make a shapeshifter play two important roles throughout the story and don't make it obvious and don't make the two characters generic as fuck. Only then does it change from a "Oh, she's a shapeshifter, MC is definitely never gonna notice.." to an actual interesting plot development.
I swear to god, one more netflix series where they're all "Yeahhh!! We're werewolves, woooo!!" without any other characteristics and I'm gonna puke.
I think it's pretty clear that the other monsters and I said monsters not aliens or anything, are dangerous and all but they are not threat to whole humanity except zombies usually the world ends almost ends in zombie scenarios and there is not much left to survive so I think if it's zombies then humanity have the lowest chance, so I like dead, I mean I am OK with a super compound mix of arsenic and some other stuff that can be spread into the atmosphere air and take out the whole world thingy
There’s so much to choose so I’ll just list some of what is on the top of my mind.
•The Kraken
•30 Days of Night vampires
•Alien
•The giant spider from Harry Potter
•The Balrog from the first Lord of the Rings
Much more that I can’t remember at the moment or don’t feel like making that much longer of a list.
Shapeshifters are pretty cool, I think anyhing that can take human form or shape makes it a lot more interesting. Something like the symbiote from venom ☺️ what's your best monster?
i love Frankenstein
These fuckers right here. Hell Raiser, Cenobites.
Still have nightmares lol
Vampires. I'm enthralled by the vampire genre to the point of imaging a vampire mate. The female vampire in the photo provided would serve well.
its the vampire from fright night 2
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097390/
@15_Debo of course!
Are we talking werewolves that can transform at will or only during full moons? If it's the latter than vampires for me.
at will
just noticed that werewolf flipping the bird bwahahahaha look at the pic
did you ever see the movie cursed? its pretty good, not well known
ahahahaha
Without a doubt 1. are the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.
2. Death Angels from Quiet Place
3. Yautja from Predator
4. Alien parasite from the Thing
5. Godzilla
6. King Kong
6. Graboids from Tremors
7. Demogorgon from Stranger Things
8. Werewolves from Dog Soldiers
9. Creepers from The Descent
10. Blob alien from The Blob
I'd say vampires. They are by far the most satisfying to watch be slain, given how in their movies they are so often arrogant and reveling in their disgusting devilry.
The crites
I think vampires can make cool characters, but zombies are the most frightening ones.
There's something intrinsically scary about tons of people after you.
Godzilla, any monster from the old horrible dubbed Japanese monster movies.
Those were so bad they are good.
The fox demons or familars 🌀 they always have flames on their bodies and magatamas on them and look amazing.
John carpenters the thing. It can imitate any life form and shape shift at will
I prefer vampires. They have been portrayed in so many different ways
Frankenstein was the doctor fyi, but that book/movie was based on actual science. The rest are urban legends started by medieval diseases
I really like Franky, but I hate the slow death of him choking people. Always makes me uncomfortable. lol. I like the way vampires stalk, but not how they sparkle.
Frankenstein the wearwolf and count Dracula and Halloween
The thing (1982). Some of the best practical effects ever.
