It’s hard to choose…
Maybe, the Halloween town movies? I feel like after they replaced the main actres Kimberly J. Brown things went down hill with the last movie they made.
Also, fantastic four could have been a great franchise but was released at a wrong time.
Fast and furious movies NEED TO STOP lmao they are great movies but they just keep making more and more and it’s getting ridiculous to the point where they’re running out of ideas I mean, cars in space? What? Anyways, the original plot of the fast and furious franchise was better. I wouldn’t remake them I would have just kept the original plots the same but add a bit more spice to it.
I think that’s about it. I had a bit of trouble trying to understand your question but hopefully this somewhat answered it.

A few horror movies. Halloween, chucky and nightmare on Elm street. All of the Killers are terrifying but the new movies that are being made are trash. They are using humor to entertain the audience and the script and story lines are lame and the filming angles and lighting is horrible. I wish I could write for them.

Years ago, well before Disney got involved, I was in a conversation online about how each of us would handle writing the Star Wars prequels. My response was "I don't know how it'd end, but I know the first three words I'd write: Dear Timothy Zahn". Frankly, you give me that franchise now and I guarantee you I'd do better than Disney did, if only because I'm not soulless, profit-obsessed, or hip-deep in lawyers. Also, I've read much of the EU (the good stuff, the lousy stuff, and the outright fantastic) and played most of the games (and considering how many there are, "most" is quite an accomplishment). Also, I've actually READ Joseph Campbell and Mercea Eliade, and have at least SOME understanding of the underlying universal story-cycle idea they were talking about. I doubt I'd do fantastic, given my total lack of moviemaking experience, but I couldn't do worse.
Speaking of a lack of experience torpedoing something good that involved Mark Hamill, give me Wing Commander. The series had a definitive ending in 4, then they decided to start up a "next generation" thing, and the game sold so well that Electronic Arts- ELECTRONIC ARTS- released the expansion for free. But the gaming world was going towards multiplayer, which Wing Commander didn't have (*Cough, cough*Armada!*Cough, cough*). But the last game (Prophecy) had some serious problems, and the movie was abysmal (despite being made by Chris Roberts, who made the games), and the franchise died with the rest of Origin.
And since probably half of your responses are going to be Star Wars, I'll take a much more liberal definition of "famous" and say Betrayal in Antara. In case you're not familiar- Betrayal at Krondor is fondly remembered, and rightfully so- based on Raymond Feist's Riftwar saga (which is a very stupid name, as the Riftwar ends in book 4, and they're up to THIRTY or so of them now), and was awesome. When the time came to make a sequel, they didn't have the rights, and couldn't get them, so they came up with another world. Betrayal in Antara wasn't as good as its older brother, and it was plagued by technical issues (to this day, whispering the title in my brother's ear will make him want to punch you), and worst of all, it ended on a cliffhanger. It didn't sell well enough to get a sequel, and the next game in the series (return to Krondor) sucked, which killed the franchise. But Antara had a juicy setting with lots of interesting stories that never got a chance to be told, and it grates on me.As a kid of the 80s and 90s, back when there was such a thing as "Originality" (despite there also being a lot of suck amongst it all) I am personally sick and tired of all the fk'n reboots and remakes.
Every single time someone takes a classic and tries to reboot it to get a quick buck off nostalgia, it tanks, it sucks and is never as good as the original. There are very few exceptions to this rule. If there are any, they can be counted on one hand. And most of these are rebooted just for the sake of changing the gender, race or sexual orientation of the original characters and acting like they're being original and creative.
Remaster the originals, sure... Or extend the universe with sequels or something that takes place somewhere else with a whole new set of characters and events within that universe.
Take Star Trek as an example. There was a lot of crap flung around by fans when the Next Generation came out, but it and all the other series that came later found their place with the original series and expanded the universe. By the time Star Trek Enterprise came around, people were exhausted and needed a break.
Then JJ came along and "Rebooted" Star Trek with his movies. Fun action space romps, but have little to do with the Star Trek Universe and played fast and loose with the existing content. In the end, the reboot experiment failed after the third movie.
So they carried on with further expanding the universe instead, with Discovery, Picard, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds and eventually Section 31... All of which are not rebooting anything but adding to the existing Lore.
So if I had full ownership and control over any movie or show franchise, I wouldn't reboot.
I would take the original content, remaster it all, package it all up with behind the scenes stuff and interviews and redistribute. I would then look into new shows or movies to further expand and add to what's already great.
Want the franchise to be more progressive and less dated? Fine, leave the old characters the way they were and create new ones.
New and original characters can hold their own with the best of them. All you need is some creativity and think it through. The people behind all these shows and movies people are rebooting weren't some genius wizards.
Going back to JJ Abram's, he tried to reboot Star Trek and it fizzled out... But notice when he took over Star Wars that he instead carried on with the story and expanded the universe, rather than reboot?
There's a lot of things people complain about in the new movies, but at least the original movies were left intact and the overall Star Wars Universe isn't fractured.
Talk to most Star Trek fans and while many will say they liked the new movies, myself included, they are mostly split off from everything else in Star Trek and don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.STAR WARS! Stand aside y'all I give you a trilogy worth of scaring the ever living shit out of you! The sith were scary af! and if you haven't read the books or listened to the audiobooks I'd highly advise you try them out. You'll see why so many star wars fans hate the new stuff. The best stories, characters, and overall writing was better in the old EU.
MTV Challenge. I’d mix it with more Fear Factor stuff and Wipeout stunts like it used to be. But i’d bring in all new people
Can I choose the entire "Marvel Cinematic Universe"? If so, I'm picking that, and I'm just killing it dead. Enough already with those shitty movies - it needs to stop.
To be honest though, I can't think of *any* remake or reboot that wasn't utter shite. It makes me wish there was some kind of protected status for movies over 10 years old, so cynical movie studios can't taint the legacy of the original, just for the sake of making a quick buck by cashing in on people's nostalgia.I'd like to see a live action Sailor Moon. I'd make it take place when they're in the professional world as adults and they gotta fight evil by moonlight after long days of juggling work and family.
I would reboot McDonalds. I would make it more customer oriented. I would get rid of the clown too.
I would mix Pokémon with Ruperts adventures and have people travel to Pokémon fields instead of near by towns to go on adventures.
I wouldn’t accept because I’m currently making a Conga Series of my own
I would wish for Star Wars, and make sure they're done WELL. Unlike the atrocity that is Disney.
I would reboot the greatest cartoon ever made. And make it more insane than it ever was.
Wheel of time, though it wouldn't really be a reboot since it was never "booted" on screen before.
I’d do Foundation and keep it to Asimov’s actual stories. Not this wild crazy lunacy that has nothing to do even remotely with the original books
Dawson’s Creek or 90210 and they’d be porn with equally hot women from the originals.
Ie would make sure there is no reboot, cause not making a shit movie
Funorb/Arcanists I'd reboot it and keep it the same and do polls for new content
Fuck the guardian code.
Half life 3 confirmed.
Invader Zim
would sell it.
