I am something of a purist. I don't like goofy shit.
For instance, I love the original 1954 (and 1956) "Godzilla", but all the sequels/remakes are all bullshit.

With vampire movies, for me, it's original 1931 (*) "Dracula" and there's no substitute.

    What's your favorite vampire movie?

For many people, Dracula = Bela Lugosi who, when he died in 1956, was buried in his Dracula cape.

I also enjoyed these versions because they took the original material seriously...
    1. "Count Dracula", the 1977 BBC version with Louis Jordan. It was broadcast on PBS and I haven't seen it since.
    2. "Nosferatu the Vampyre", a 1979 film with Klaus Kinski.
    3. For Halloween 1973, CBS had a TV movie version called "Bram Stoker's Dracula" but it got pre-empted and broadcast in early 1974.
It starred Jack Palance. For a variety of reasons, it has been called also as "Dracula" and "Dan Curtis' Dracula" because Francis Ford Coppola released his "Bram Stoker's Dracula" in 1992, but I've never seen it and it deviates from the Bram Stoker story because, in this movie, they make Dracula's original human persona be "Vlad The Impaler" who was a real person from the 1400s who allegedly was Bram Stoker's inspiration for Dracula. This was common knowledge by the 1980s, so that's probably why Coppola did that. Anyway, I really can't comment on Coppola's version because I didn't see it and I have no significant motivation to.

This is the 1977 BBC version with what looks like Portuguese subtitles.

(*) Unfortunately, the original is now almost impossible to come by because some asshole named Ben Model decided that the movie needed music throughout. This fucks up the movie considerably because it was actually vastly more creepy with no music beyond that used in the opening title sequence ("Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky). Before him, famous composer Philip Glass also added a score. This movie should NEVER have a score - the silence makes it so much creepier. After all, in real life, you don't have a soundtrack, do you?

    Here's Ben Model discussing it.
    www.silentfilmmusic.com/dracula-musical-score

And here's a comment on that page that I completely agree with...

    todd harrell holmes
Okay, I get it, you wanted to “improve” a classic film. But I watched the film last Halloween and you totally ruined it. If Tod Browning wanted music running all the way through it, he would have done so. You even had the misfortune of replacing the original Swan Lake title score with some other abomination. The impending doom of the story was made more evident in the silent sequences, such as the interior of Dracula’s Castle, and the scene with his wives creeping up on Jonathan Harker. Thanks for ruining my Halloween.

While not a vampire movie, I will leave you with the famous (and arguably first) goth song from 1979: "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus.
The lyrics don't start until almost 3 minutes into the song...

Roger Ebert's "Great Films" 1999 review of the 1931 film (and referencing the 1992 film and others)...
      www.rogerebert.com/.../great-movie-dracula-1931

      ****
      Dracula
      Roger Ebert September 19, 1999

      ...
Certainly it is Lugosi's performance, and the cinematography of Karl Freund, that make Tod Browning's film such an influential Hollywood picture.
      ...
It was Freund who was instrumental in creating the startling impact of the arrival at Castle Dracula, the entrance to the castle's forbidding interior spaces, and such “Nosferatu”-inspired shots as the hand snaking from a coffin and rats snuffling in a crypt.

What was new about the film was sound. It was the first talking picture based on Bram Stoker's novel, and somehow Count Dracula was more fearsome when you could hear him--not an inhuman monster, but a human one, whose painfully articulated sentences mocked the conventions of drawing room society. And here Lugosi's accent and his stiffness in English were advantages.
      ...
If the film's look and star performance were influential, so was its dialogue. Many of movie's great lines have entered into folklore:

      "I never drink... wine."
"For one who has not lived even a single lifetime, you are a wise man, Van Helsing."
"Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make."

There's a lot of great suggestions here but if you wanted to watch comedy ones, the first and last I mentioned, also the Lost Boy's is awesome 80s comedy, gore.

If you want something more serious the middle two. Both have big name casts -even if you don't like someone listed they are good in this role.

'Interview ' -Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Bandreas and Kirsten Dunst when she was a kid.
'Bram Stokers ' - Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves.

Oh that one is easy. Let the right one in, Both the American and Swedish one.
Blood red sky a recent good one is apparently a vampire film but eh more of just zombies that light hurts good but in my mind for sure just a zombie film. Zombies on a plane really.

Though it should be said, vampires bore me especially in the horror aspect. It's kinda like unless that vampire is kinda hot and has some romance what's the point? Might as well just have zombies which Blood red sky kinda did. Also a lot of vampire films seem to mention it as a blood disease or something which again.. Zombies.

A key difference is the fact vampires are cursed to be that way and have stuff which are actual powers not just a blood disease that makes one a bit more monstrous. Not that powers a vampire has interest me though, since one of the main power's is just to mind control people which means movie over in 3secs realistically. Since vampire just does that drains the guy the end.
Also with that all be said and now gonna sound a bit counter to my whole feeling on the thing, i really liked AHS S5 aka Hotel possibly my favourite season which had so called vampires in it but in reality a blood disease. But it was the most i've enjoyed the thematic theme of vampires.

The last thing to mention is The Omega Man. Not a Vampire or a Zombie thing, it's a virus that created mutants which act much like vampires or zombies. Now even though it's not really either. I feel like this film beats all Vampire and Zombie films it is a master peace.

    Byzantium (2012). With Saoirse Ronan.

Also liked The Old Guard (2020). They aren't gods like most of them are, which is why I liked it.

    Least Favorite:
All the Twilights. Even "Vampires Suck" was better than the franchise that gave us Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Bella it's not a movie but I used to like watching The Vampire Diaries. I thought the acting in that TV series was much better than the acting in the Twilight movies. But I still enjoyed the Twilight movies anyway partly because the acting was so cheesy that I found it humorous, especially with how the teen angst was played.

I always end up thinking the vampire parts are cliché, never really liked them. If they can make a good series where the main character happens to be a vampire, cool, but don't put too much focus on it. 3 episodes of "I'm so pretty and need blood" is a snoozefest.
