My question to you fellas and ladies out there if you wanted to go and see a movie but no one else doesn't have the time to catch the flick with you, would you dare to go out and catch a movie by yourself?

I've gone by myself several times before. I've been a loner for most of my life, so the only option is typically to go alone. It can be kind of awkward, and I've gotten the odd look, but I'm not sure if it's in my head, from being uncomfortable for going into a social setting alone, or if people are genuinely perplexed. Either way, it's not that bad. It's better, if you watch movies when they're about to be cycled out of the theater, because if you go alone, you often have the entire theater to yourself, or just a few other people. 😎
I have done it in the past. Years ago I started going every week for a few months and seen lots of movies, most of them by myself. I did it because afterwards I didn't want to still have to spend the rest of the day with people, entertaining them. I just wanted to watch a movie, eat the good pop corn, then go home and play games the rest of the day.
I haven't been to the movies for quite a while now though. I don't like most of the ones that have been made recently. Plus having a good TV and subwoofer sound system at home makes the movie theater not as appealing anymore. And now I get to have pizza when watching a movie at home. :)
I do it all the time since my girls are adults now and have other things to do (they don't like movies). There is nothing wrong with your own company, is there? I always enjoy myself because I don't have to tell the other person I'm with to quiet down or explain something they don't get in the movie, or whatever. If I found someone like myself who likes to watch a movie and enjoy it, without being too noisy, that would be nice. But now I do not.
I've gone by myself plenty of times lol. I don't mind it.

Not only would I do it, I've done it that way most of my life and PREFER to watch movies on my own. I have the freedom to enjoy the movie in the way that I wish to enjoy it and with complete guilt-free freedom with no other pressures or constraints.
For instance, I like to get there early to get the seat I want. And I want to stay past the end of the credits. And I don't want to be nagged about buying snacks or wanting to do something else before or after the movie.
I am telling you: There is pretty much nothing better than freedom and the solo movie experience versus the movie experience within a couple or group illustrates this fact.
Of course. No one will even notice or care that you're there on your own. Most of your time will be spent sitting in dark, and everyone is there to watch the movie, not stare at the person sat by themselves lol.
Thanks for the reassurance
Yes, Go by yourself it’s ok. I know a girl who does this all the time. She travels to different states because of her job and is usually by herself and doesn’t know anyone there. She loves to go to the movies and she doesn’t let being by herself stop her from going.
The honest truth is nobody will give a damm. They aren't going to look over at you sitting all by yourself, and think "What a loser, he/she can't even get someone to come to the movies with him/her." I do it all the time, as my wife likes different movies than I do. Some we see together, but at the 11 Screen Cineplex we will often go in together and walk to different theaters. One of us will have to wait for the other, maybe 15-30 mins, but no big deal, and then we go to dinner together, where we (Gasp!, hold on now!) order different meals.
How we've stayed married for 48 years boggles the brain given the self selected distancing we practice, yet it's happened. Facts are always stranger than fiction.
I've only done it once. It was Zombieland Double Tap
Did you enjoyed going to the movie alone or it made you feel awkward doing it?
It wasn't awkward because people sitting next to you always treat you like y'all came together but i prefer goin with someone
Cool
Not really - The thing is that right now you can just turn on your ps4 and watch whatever you like instead of that extra money I'll buy more nachos more chesse and more sauces - but if I was born like 20 years earlier I would definitely have done it..
I think I only did it once many many years ago. I kind of felt proud of myself. I don't remember what the movie was but I really wanted to see it and didn't have anyone to go with so I said fuck it, I'm going!
Don't worry about how it looks. It's your life and you get to do what you want. Go and enjoy a film.
I have to say I have never done this, going to the movies has always been a social event
or date night for me.
however, That wouldn’t stop me. Sure I’d go alone. I have seen plenty of people do it and don’t find it strange at all. No one reacts oddly
how do people react to other people going to the movies by themselves... honestly, I've never checked on people at the movies and then kept tracking them to see if they were joined by others eventually or if they watched the movie by themselves...
I don't think you should be worried by people's reactions... lol
I have. I went to see that Tom Cruise Mummy movie by myself back when it came out. Found that I was literally the ONLY one in the room so I pretty much had a private screening of the movie 😂 I didn’t care if it was good or not. It felt great to be there all by myself. I felt like a king
i dont give a shit, if i wanted to id go alone, fuck what other people think, its jus that i have no desire to watch movies so i never do, but i have no friends, so if i wanted to go alone i would... fuck what other people are thinking, most people are judgmental assholes so i dont care about their thoughts or judgements, they can shuv it up there ass
why do u care about other people thoughts little timmy? why are u so sensitive to wanna be liked so much? majority of people alive are assholes, u have no one to impress
I have. A movie I really wanted to see came out and everyone needed to wait until a later hour showing, so I went by myself.
Yes. I have done this several times just to take a break from everyone and the chaos. I usually take at least 2 hours per week to spend some time away from friends/family by taking a long walk, going to a movie, etc.
I've been on my own to the movies and would definitely do it again. Once I went to the movies with a friend and we were the only 2 there, that was pretty funny. They even asked us if we wanted a break or not, we said no and the movie continued... 🤣
Yes. Done so on my 19th birthday and loved it.
It becomes liberating when you take the step to start doing things alone. I also took a solo holiday abroad for a few days and it was very empowering and peaceful.
I've been to the movies alone a few times before, its really not a big deal. Not everyone can work on your schedule or wants to see the same movie as you.
Yep. Recently saw House of Guci and Ghostbusters. I saw Dune with a friend. It doesn't matter. When you go with someone you barely talk and sent silence watching the movie.
Sure. I’ve done it. I’ve seen several others who were by themselves. Get popcorn and enjoy the movie 😀
No popcorn for you!

Yes, sometimes alone time, makes you relax, sit back, enjoy
I don't see it as a big deal. I don't really care what other people think when they see me. Once the movie starts they forget you're even there
Sometimes I would go to a matinee during the week. There would not be too many people there. I saw one of the Batman movies years ago and I was in the theater by myself.
Yeah I have a fair few times, often when away on business to add variation to an evening when away for the week.
I've done it before, lol.
No biggie.
Mostly with scary movies, majority of my friends hate them.
If you're there to actually watch the film rather than exchange bodily fluids with your boyfriend your girlfriend then yeah.
I have before. What's the problem? Watching movies doesn't require a partner.
Something i really wanna see and got nobody to go with, sure
Yes and loved it. 3 layers of butter on a bucket of popcorn AND IT'S ALL MINE! MINE I SAY! 🍿😈
Nope... I'd feel weird. I've only ever gone with someone
I've gone alone lots of times; usually it's an action film or war film.
Yes I believe that you should date yourself go on movies go on walks go to dinner at a fancy restaurant even by yourself learn to love the solitude. I promise u will be happier in life
I have never done that. My grandma used to always do that in the 80's and 90's, but she was a boss. It seems strange, like eating in a restaurant by yourself.
If I'm gonna watch a movie by myself, I'd rather just stay at home.
Sure, why not? Even if having a companion would be a plus.
I have, several times. Sometimes, it's a movie that my SO and friends aren't interested in.
I go to the movies by myself all the time. No one cares.
I definitely would do something like that.
Not to sound ignorant, but I usually enjoyed being alone and it depends on the film.
I don't go to theaters really since their expensive. I'd just watch a movie on Netflix by myself instead.
As long as I get of ma mind and none wants to go with
I've done it. It was an educational film, not a movie you'd watch just to enjoy the movie.
It is really nice. I suggest everyone. It is comfortable and nice. You do whatever you want
I'm all ways by myself while at the movie theater I'm for ever alone.
I don't think I would be comfortable going to the movies alone. I like having company to chat.
Absolutely. I recommend watching paranormal activity all by yourself
Yeah sure if I wanna see something and no one else wants to go I will do it myself
I have seen movies by myself. I'd absolutely do it again.
To me it's just not something you do alone. It's a friends/family thing. Feels weird to go solo.
i hate movies. hollywood is evil and i ould just watch one at home anyways
Seems annoying to go all the way there and pay extra.
I've done it a few times. Wasn't great, wasn't terrible.
Yes, I have heaps of times because I usually don't have anyone else to go with.
Done it before and would will do it again. I don't need people around me to have a good time.
hey i do everything alone, and i never pay attention to what other people think, its really one of my business.
this world is not for couples only
I go often alone to the movies
I have.
Seriously. You need a job to afford the movies? That's just sad
Yes I always want to go on dates alone xD….
The idea of leaving the house is panic inducing.
Yes. I've done that many times in the past.
Sounds sad ☹️. But you should definitely go, it’s dark no one’s gonna know/care anyway.
Done it before. There's nothing weird about it.
Not a movie person so no...
