Are you sad to hear about Betty Whites passing?

Yes. I recall hearing, years ago, someone ask her why she thought so many young people enjoyed The Golden Girls so much. She responded with the most heartening of responses (in this particular context): bafflement. "It was funny", she said, clearly confused as to why a person would only be able to relate to those who shared their demographic traits. It's important to remember that casting aside the stupidities of past generations doesn't do much good if you insist on picking up new ones.

She was one of the last- maybe even THE last, depending on where you draw the lines- of the stars of the early days of TV. And it's always sad to see the last of something die.

Had a great deal of respect for her. Her career spans decades and her ability to turn her hand to every aspect of the industry is unparalleled. Yes, I'm sad she didn't make her centenary.

I feel sad anytime I hear about someone who has died. She was 99 years old though so it wasn't completely unexpected or surprising. She lived a long and seemingly happy life but of course I feel empathy for her family and friends during their time of grief.

Omg really that's so sad for me she was in National Treasure I think she taught us all how to be how to act how to love how to care how old was she a lot of good people passed away this year I'm glad that I was alive in her lifetime she was a very very good person

no i don't really approve of celebrities in general

but 5 years ago i remember an article "betty white dyes at 95" which was literally an article about her adding dye to cloths. the internet thought she was dead because they can't read

It’s sad but I was very certain that it might happen because of her age and the amount of attention she was getting which puts stress in the heart and mind and body.

She was a lovely lady. I am a bit bummed about her passing because she was so loved. Not to mention… Just in 17 days, she would have been 100… Sad.
