It used to make me smile when a girl messaged me, but in my own experience,... either she is interested in me and she's making that effort to connect with me further in depth and she wants her and I to romantically connect and be a couple long term,... or for the most unfortunate part (especially in my own experience)... she is interested in me and wants to be romantically involved in my life... but at the same time I'm also thinking,.."Yeah,.. but for how long? a few days? a few weeks? a few months? and then what? You drop your interest in me and move on? Fuck that!"
When I was young then yes. But as I have gained experience I know that female attention is only there as long as you are doing something for them. So you are paying for attention. Most of the time, I expect a response so I dont really care.

Some girls I let wait a couple of minutes otherwise they start expecting replies too quickly.

Text messages mean nothing to me. I'd rather a phone call or the person actually meeting up with me. Those things take effort. Text messages are lazy and meaningless.
