Well you weren't around then either. But it spawned a lot of Comic Cons and reruns that are still in syndication.

Did you ever see the TV series, The Orville? It is/was a Star Trek take off comedy. I thought it was funny myself.

From what I read a lot of people cared. There was such an outcry that it ran for a third season. Despite this, the ratings did not improve and it was cancelled after that

I was born around when the original was canceled but the latter ones I never really got into as much so I never knew when they did
