The "animation" is simply a vehicle for the communications of an idea.

This is the "communications cycle".
IDEA TO SEND > METHOD/MEANS > ENCODE > TRANSMIT > DECODE > METHOD/MEANS > RECEIVED IDEA.

One of my favorite examples was (and still is) "Rocky and Bullwinkle". The cartoon was really a political satire of the Cold War at a fairly high caliber. Together with Mr. Peabody, Dudley DoRight and a few other sets of shorts, the elements of the cartoons incorporated the same dry humor, reliance on puns, and disdain for the "fourth wall" separating the characters from the audience. Unlike most cartoons, Rocky and Bullwinkle, could keep the attention of both children and adults alike. The animation speed was in the neighborhood of 4-5 (effective) frames per second (ditto Hanna-Barbera output), as opposed to the industry standard of 24-30 fps. Even though there are "lags" and "catch-ups" in the effective animation speed, the idea/ concept/script and voice characterizations are tops, not "low" entertainment at all.

No. I often prefer them. Animation is a lengthy process and the art style can more flexibly convey themes than live action. Take for example (this sounds like an essay) the styling of the stop motion puppets and environment in A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Much as live action films can be styled to reflect a certain theme (e. g. Sweeney Todd) they are constrained by the physics of using human actors.

Whhaaaat? As an animator the answer is absolutely not. Do you know how much time and energy it takes to animate? Each
For one second of what you see, that's at least 24 drawings. Do you know how many drawings that takes? Even to make a 30 second clip would be 30 × 24 = 720 drawings. This is before we talk about adding audio. As technology evolves it becomes less complicated but more complicated in some ways. Not to mention people like me who do stop motion animation, that's a whole fuckton of even more work before shooting can begin and then the piecing it together. Animation is an artform to be revered. The fact that people are so accustomed to it now, the work is not appreciated as it should be. Every animated movie takes years. And for stop motion even more years, to produce. Damn.

I might not always agree with everyone, but if they found a media they enjoy or something that genuinely brings them laughs, why not let them enjoy it if it isn't harmful to others?

Far from it.

Animation was designed to provide visuals that cannot be shown through live action. Comedy can only be an issue if the structure of the jokes and the timing is off.

I don't remember the context of the quote in the show but I remember the girl saying this isn't very likeable so I don't think you are meant to take that quote seriously.

No, but it often works out that way due to social expectations. This is why so many kids got traumatized when their parents saw Watership Down in a video store, and assumed an animated movie about rabbits must be for kids.

Animation from america apart from a few ones are of very low quality, animation from other countries (mostly eastern ones like japan for example) is of very good quality, its just that most people think of it as low quality while it really is not.

It depends on the show and company. I used to love disney in the early 2000s, but then lost interest as new stuff came. Same with cartoon network. And with adult animation it depends just as much.

No. Some very old people think animation is just for kids but even the old Warner Brothers cartoons had subtle things for adults.
