What is the strangest sub-genre of Metal that you know of?

I thought Pirate-Metal was odd but I just discovered Dwarven-Metal today. So if anyone needs me I'll be busy re-watching The Hobbit movies, while playing Warhammer: Total War, listening to Wind Rose

I wouldn't really call it official sub-genre but then tbh what is?
It's only been created recently, and it can for sure build a future from it in my opinion. Scene Queen's bimbocore. It kinda takes the idea of well hyper feminine and over the top but that's metal. It's the thing that brings that feel of someone you would first see, think ah they make bad pop music. It's probably one of those love or hate things. Personally I love it.

I'd go for Dwarf Fortress myself (or maybe Deep Rock Galactic if you want something more action-y), but that's just me.

I'm not really into metal, so I'm not familiar with its subgenres, but I DID once overhear a conversation between two guys arguing about whether a particular song was "death metal" or "doom metal", and, not knowing the distinction (or the song), found it to be kind of silly; most musical genres don't exactly have firm borders.

Doom Metal is very melancholy, and Death Metal is what Achilles would have played while he sacked the city of Troy.

I once saw an Internet poll of which was more popular, death metal or black metal. (Black metal won but not by much.)

Pirate metal is great fun, good for metal clubs.
There is a band called Bodies on Everest, I think they play noise. Not even sure about the genre.
My mate said it was so weird it was almost good.

Metal isn't always easily understood. And that's perfectly fine if you don't. It is actually good for your mental health though. It's a safe and controlled way to let out anger and frustration.
