What was the scariest movie you have ever seen?

I'm not some badass but I never seemed to find horror films to be scary. I think it's because I don't immerse myself so deeply in them. Yet I have found some to be very "disturbing" even if I didn't find them "scary" which is maybe not too different from "scary" but a more lingering effect and less visceral, like a "horrifying concept".

So one of the top ones for me like that is Alien and I think in large part because Giger's designs often blur body horror with sexuality and themes like rape as well as a parasite growing inside our bodies and erupting after we're violently raped by the face-hugger which plants its seed inside of us:

I also found Se7en very disturbing. I also found The Silence of the Lambs quite disturbing although I oddly found Buffalo Bill's character more disturbing than Hannibal Lecter's.

The Grudge really creeped me out. Now the most disturbing horror movie I’ve seen is Circus of the Dead. Halfway through it I was asking myself why I was still watching.
