What are your thoughts on Netflix's falling subscriptions and what's going wrong for them?

Nah, Netflix has put out some great content and shows. Truth be told there's just a lot of competition in the market place right now between Hulu, Disney, Prime and just about everything else. I mean with ABC being owed by Disney, and now NBC has Peacock they retaining all thirr own content was as in the past they would license Netflix to run thier content.
My theory is that people sat at home for a year plus with COVID binge watching everything and now they got to go back to work. Hopefully Netflix pulls through, because its always good to have competition in the market place, but Netflix has to adapte inorder to stay competitive. Hulu, Disney, Amazon, NBC all have other revenues streams that keep them competitive. Hulu has cable television service, HuluTV, NBC has the cable broadcast services with ad sponsors... the of course Disney which is practically a media monopoly, and Amazon.
Netflix has survived a long time in market space ripe with competition and heavy hitters.
1. They got woke.
2. Cause of it, they're going broke.
3. They don't hype up their shows.
4. Most of their shows suck now. (Even the non-woke ones.)
5. Binge-watching is a horrible business model, and they should just release their shows weekly to not have buzz fizzle out in a week or two. (Amazon Prime did this.)
6. None of their shows last long enough to sell into syndication. (So far, only three are even eligible: Bojack Horseman, Orange Is The New Black, and GLOW.)
7. Their quality is dropping in a more competitive market with Disney+, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max, and to a far lesser extent, Hulu. (Paramount+ and Peacock are pure garbage, so they don't even count.)
8. They're raising prices in a more competitive market.
9. They absolutely sh*t on fanbases; in particular, the anime fanbase. (Netflix Cowboy Bebop was a disaster.)
10. They don't appreciate their customers and blame "password sharing" for their own sh*tty marketing and business decisions.
Glad I never had Netflix or any streaming platform, though.
They seem to take forever to make a series. You might be waiting a year or two for 6 episodes
What I like is that I can watch a lot of non-English movies and series on Netflix.
But normally one month and I'm bored af. It takes a lot of time to find something alright.
I think if they released series episodes weekly, more people would stay.
Bingewatching series... okay for one weekend, but most people have life and quickly realize how bad netflix can be on productivity.
And yes, wokeness is a massive problem. I actually started reading books again as I can't stand this not so subtle brainwashing.
Lol, yes, good meme.
I'm glad and I'll be cancelling my Netflix subscription today, too.
Ads? On a subscription platform? Fuck no. Trying to crack down on password sharing? We pay for a certain number of screens - that's a right the customers paid for. And one Netflix even advertised themselves.
They're making terrible decisions, and deserve to fail.
Back to piracy!

They waste too much money trying to produce their own content rather than acquiring quality content from outside sources. They're also choosing political messaging over entertainment escapism, which pretty much never plays out well with consumers, and only attracts investors who are content with losing money or making low returns. It has made their business model too expensive in the long run. Streaming services also don't make nearly as much money for the effort involved particularly in feature films, so it's causing a lot of Hollywood productions to attempt theatrical releases or just kill their budgets, resulting in a steady stream of lackluster and forgettable movies.
For me it's the volumes of cheaply made TV series like shadow hunters and all... don't get me wrong some stuff is good.
We live off grid so our satellite/cell internet isn't fast enough for streaming but I heard they are putting out lots of woke crap and ltqbcdefg++ and such bull, and of course us normal people are pretty sick of that stuff like the 124 different genders (Google chromosomes people) etc etc
My guess is competetors simply came up with better original content more frequently. I tried watching several of their shows but only a handful of them were any good, and those have been between seasons for what seems like 2 years now. Maybe they're putting all their eggs into the live action Avatar basket.
"Go woke go broke".
People don't turn to entertainment to have more politics shoved down their throats. Netflix was supposed to be an escape from your every day stress instead they've insisted on taking sides in an endless tiresome indentity politics BS.
Now you may think it was a good idea to invest because everyone is writing or talking about it and how great of an impact it must therefore have... Wrong! People are sick of it.
Disney has pulled lots of their shows from them. And now Disney and Crunchyroll are really big competitors. When Netflix started they had no real streaming compitition.
Lots of Russian subscription ended as russia has censoring it harshly.
They anticipated not having a good Q1 in 2022 last year as they crossed 200 million monthly subs. So looks like what’s going on is more competition and nothing is wrong with Netflix.
I think they've got too much terrible series on.
That tends to happen as content rotates. Wait for the fall and you will see a change in what is offered
Inflation has become a real issue for lots of people in America. Subscription services are something that most people can easily do without to save some money.
Also , the content on Netfix has gotten really crappy lately. I have not watched anything on Netflix in months.
Competition and there isn't really need to hold more than one service at a time. So people will end up either rotating or stick with one that creates enough content.
They need to lower the price and get some more recent movies and shows
Multiple problems. Lack of marketing/ promotion for their shows/ movies, content feels rushed, price hikes when they’re lacking content, binge culture is becoming counter productive, etc
They spend too much money on content their subscribers don't really want.
I stopped supporting them after the dismissal of society & when they dropped that abusive children show of cuties, i pulled my sub n said hell no plus i watch all my tv for free
well they started out as porn and now gone all aunty no sex and nudity so yes they will lose customers aby change could lose them
What did they honestly expect to happen after raising prices and clamping down on password sharing?
Netflix is not making any money and sooner or later I look for someone to buy them out Now I could be wrong but I just canceled my subscription and saved myself $19.99 plus tax on my cable bill
The picture pretty much says it all. They make woke content and advertisements that make many people boycott the company. They also release films with sexual content involving children under 13.
Simple no lockdown anymore...
People back to work. People choose to watch movies on theatre than on mobile.
It's no brainer
A big chunk was pulling out of Russia with the Ukrainian situation
Global cost of living going up
The end of lockdowns
It's the programing the show and movies aren't as good
Probably the content and other streaming services available, I could never find anything I look up I want to watch
And apple had seasons of falling iPhone sales. Are they out of business?
It took very long. Many recent questionable decisions.
Pricess kept going up. Hulu cheaper and has live tv.
Netflix is becoming a pathetic woke feminist trash company and will go broke like all the rest.
They bring old movies so often.
Serious amount of foreign movies. I wouldn't mind but they are so bad
I’m surprised. They have good shows.
way too many streaming services
They upped the price. It’s no longer worth it.
The novelty has worn off
Fuck those pedos
They still have to remove Cuties
Go woke, go broke
Gonna cancel soon
Too much woke shit.
