Okay, all you hippies from the `60's and early `70's, what do YOU think of all these reaction videos kids today are doing of our music?

Did you ever react this way to this stuff the first time YOU heard it back in the `60's? I never did! To me, it was just another album! I think I was just so used to hearing this kind of stuff and growing up with it that it just never phased me the way it does for these kids today!

You weren't phased by Sergeant Pepper, or Freak Out! or, hell, the Ring trilogy?

It may not have been as pronounced as what you see today, but I find it hard to believe ANYONE is that blase.

I never heard Freak Out until the early `80's and wasn't impressed by it. I kinda like Zappa but not enough to run out and buy all his records. I borrowed all of them from a friend of mine back in `82, recorded them all to cassette so I could listen to them. Heard them all once and never touched them again. Beefheart was much better! Growing up with all that psych around me, The Beatles were just another band, to me and I figured they be around for a long time so, I could buy their records any time I wanted. By the time I started listening to it in the mid `70's, I was so used to that stuff, it really didn't flip my Beatle wig. I liked it a lot but, like I said, it was just another rock album, to me.
I've never heard of the Ring Trilogy.

I kind of grew up with that music too because my parents listened to it, so it just seemed normal to me. But as an adult now, listening to some of the garbage that passes as "music" today, I do appreciate how amazing artists like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles were. I listen to that stuff more than modern music.

I can dig it!! I liked psych when it was new but never really got into it that much. It was just "normal", to me. When the second psych wave hit in the mid `80's, I went nuts over and have been collecting as much as I can find ever since!! It's the most creative music ever made!! Only the new wave era can come close to it! I've been compiling a psych compilation for a number of years and it's at least 22 CD's long at the moment but I've got over 100 more CD's worth (so far) to add to it. I've just been so busy editing together the FULL Woodstock concert that the psych collection has been put aside for a short while. After I finish a small writing project next month, the Woodstock concert will be completed and this will be the first anniversary in Aug. I'll be able to hear the entire concert!!
