Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren
All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover
Pretending by Holly Bourne
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The whole 5-part trilogy really. And the addendums.
The book starts with summarizing Christianity into one guy wanting you to be nice to each other and getting crucified for it, summarizes money as something people want to be happy despite money not being happy itself, and just extrapolates from how stupid humans are into a universe where anything is possible and every alien race being as greedy, shortsighted, and dumb or dumber than humans.
One of the funnier things I have ever read.
PS. My examples are from the first page and half of the prologue, not even from the first chapter.
Wuthering Heights, Middlemarch, Mrs Dalloway, Anna Karenina, Jane Eyre, Emma, The Mill on the Floss.
You’re a fan of classics I see
I certainly am
Women who run with the wolves, The Illuminae files, The strange and beautiful sorrows of Ava Lavender... I could go on and on honestly
