Definitely on the fantastic beasts, wasn't nearly as good as the previous ones. If they have any more, I won't be watching any of them. Not necessarily cause they replaced him but because they replaced him with a horrible actor that they'll want to use in future ones.
It depends on the movie franchise. There are many movies that have been redone over the last 50 years, multiple times. I understand the need to change actors. In other instances, I like having all the original cast in consecutive movies, like the Mission impossible series
I think the Batman franchise is a good example of this. It is hard to think of somebody besides Ben Affleck to be Batman. Thee have been many. George Clooney and Michael Keaton were odd choices.
Generally yes, although in that specific case, I actually prefer Mads Mikkelson in that role. Johnny is a bit too Tim Burton.

i'd be interested to see the same movie filmed with 2 different casts, like if they did Interstellar exactly the same but with a completely different cast
Yeah - I used to watch young and the restless and one day they spontaneously exchanged one of the characters with a new person and I never enjoyed that show again cause it was so weird.
I did, I didn't watch the next one because Depp wasn't in it. I hate it when they change actors :(
The Mountain in game of thrones. THREE PEOPLE
Ehhhh. They were alright I guess. I don't know about all the gay stuff though TBH
it depends, but pirates without johnny is boring, and I hate recasts in general within the same continuity.
Depends on the movie as well as why there are changing the lead actor
Yeah it does ruin the fantasy, I hate when they do that, look how many Batman characters changed and Spider-Man
Oh and the Mummy, when they replaced Rachel Weisz, that really confused me while trying to watch it
Sometimes, but not if it's James Bond.
Yes. But bond movies aren't actually the sequel types.
I can't think of a sequel that was made better by replacing the lead.
Exactly
@exitseven I became interested after Pierce Morgan. 😂
@TrueConfection Pierce Brosnan is the guy's name
@exitseven oh right 😂 I didn't have my coffee yet. 🤦
Pirates of the carribean made Johnny depp. It's his flagship isp.. or was.. fucking amber turd...
What, in the middle of the movie?
No. In next part
Yeah, that IS annoying and confusing! Luckily, I couldn't tell the difference with Dumbledor.
This question came up after watching Dumbledore... This new guy could bring the character upto the expectations
In cases where the person playing the part dies, there's nothing you CAN do but get someone else to play it, or, make an electronic/digital clone of the original guy and kinda paste him over the new guy.
Its definitely a continuity problem.
Oh yes.
depp was best in that role but.
Yes. I refuse to watch Lightyear. Fuck that movie!
Heck yeah
justice for Johnny
Definitely!
if the movie is good, it's good.
Nope
Yeah totally
Typically yes.
Yes That’s no good
why is Mads in that picture
