Why did Fx created American horror stories?

This is my opinion, not based on fact, but Ryan Murphy seems to have a pattern of getting bored of AHS and starting another sideshow. If he stuck to AHS and got better writers, the seasons would be better and more coherent. Also, Ryan Murphy seems to have a lot of unsustainable ideas that wouldn't fit into a whole season. AHStories seem like something to remedy his problem.
Is that still going? They tried showing it for a bit here in the UK but I don't think it did well.
For the last 4 or more years I've been growing tired of any American entertainment. Ultra gore with no real plot and nothing but the horror that usually relies on ultra gore with no fucking real plot.
Because ahs went to shit. And they thought a spin off would make it better somehow. Rip to what could of been a great series before it tried to connect them.

Netflix got greedy and the creators still had IP they wanted to produce. So they had to give it a different name in order to proceed without sacrificing the rights to Netflix.
Because they like making money and times are so crazy that "Dracula/vampire" Evil are outlets to reality...
