I like that horror movies have never been afraid to address political/societal issues (without feeling like it's being shoved down your throat. You can still just enjoy them as horror movies) using them as storylines And character arcs.

Horror movies can also just be plain fun. Even bad horror movies are still funnier than most comedies.
