Is Thanos actually evil?

It seems that Thanos isn't actually an evil person/creature. He realizes that there are fewer resources than those that require/want them. It seems reasonable that when the resources cannot match the demand a change needs to be made. In a situation where the resources cannot be increased to match the demand, then the reasonable solution is to decrease the demand. Thanos did not want only the wealthy to have demand as that would eventually make everyone poor. Therefore he reduced the population of the universe to the level where supply could match demand without bias disregarding, gender, class, education, age, etc. This seems like a logical solution to allocate limited resources. So why is he evil in the Marvel movies?

His reason for doing what he did is not flawed. It’s true that resources are finite and something must be done to avoid extinction.


But, his solution (mass murder) was completely heartless and there are other solutions he could have resorted to.


It would be like if someone stopped world hunger by killing millions of innocent people so more food can go around. It’s a solution, but definitely not an ethical solution.


A better solution would be to encourage and/or enforce sustainability by forming an intergalactic council/committee/alliance to regulate the consumption and cultivation of resources to keep extinction at bay.

Thanos was closer to right. The heroes were dead wrong. I can prove it.
There was another option. Instead of snapping to halve consumers, snap to triple resources. Even the “heroes” didn’t do that. Why?

Wouldn’t that fill the entirety of space up though? Even if space is infinite, and it’s not, infinite resources would demand infinite space. That’s why i decided on triple. If we have twice as many consumers as resources for consumers, doubling resources is just enough. Make it triple so everyone has plenty

If we match resources to ensure all have plenty then population will explode and more resources will constantly be needed to match the rapidly increasing population.

Thanos is an idiot. Cutting the population in half is a temporary fix. With the abundance of resources after that point, the reproduction rate would skyrocket and you'd be right back to 'kill half' again in a few decades.

A real solution would be to reduce the reproduction rate to 1 child per couple for 2 generations, and then 2 per couple thereafter. No need to kill anybody, just prevent them from being born in excessive numbers

I don't know about comic books, I've never read any comics about Thanos.
