Jordan Peele recently stated that “I Don’t See Myself Casting a White Dude As the Lead.”

Well he has taken his pursuit of black excellence further with respect to his hit movies, stating that "I will only use black FX companies for special effects on my movies from now on."

Keep in mind that Jordan Peele's mom is White, his black dad abandoned the family, so he ultimately was raised by a single White mom. And like your typical black male who becomes a success, he married a non-black woman as a trophy wife; his wife is Jewish.

Think for a second. Imagine a white director coming out publicly and saying he does not think he would cast a black person for the lead in his film.

I think it’s fine to not want to hire a white person in a lead role in a movie if being black is integral to the plot of the movie. There’s nothing wrong with that.

but if you don’t want to hire someone in general just because of skin colour then that is racist.

I think businesses should be allowed to limit language and culture if it is part of the business. Like I know banks in Asian shopping centres in Canada where the bank tellers have to speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English to accommodate the customers that do not speak English but use the bank. I know middle eastern stores where employees have to speak Arabic and I know South Asian grocers where employees have to know Hindi to work there.

How many "White" directors commit to casting a non-"White" male lead?

And "White" women are "White" people too. I am sure he hires a lot of "White" guys as assistants, stage hands, cleaning folks, etc.

I would ask, "What is the context?" I wouldn't cast a white lead if my story were about music at The Apollo in Harlem. I wouldn't cast a black lead if the movie is about George III.
