Oh this is easy and many people will say the same thing:

Heath Ledger as "The Joker" in "The Dark Knight".
Not only did he win a posthumous Best Supporting Actor Academy Award, it was a performance for the ages.

Now, imagine that performance and then watch his performance, at age 26, as Ennis Del Mar, the in-the-closet gay cowboy having an affair with Jake Gyllenhaal's Jack Twist in the Best Picture nominee "Brokeback Mountain". Ledger received a Best Actor Academy Award nomination for that role.

You know, a movie about gay cowboys isn't something I'd go for and the first time I caught it, I was flipping channels and they were doing it in the tent. But, I have to tell you, it was a very good movie, just like "The Dark Knight" and both primarily because of Heath Ledger and the directors of those movies.

Ang Lee, who directed "Brokeback Mountain" has made some great movies. See "The Life of Pi" for another equally amazing work of his.
He was fantastically versatile but died just before he turned 29. I can't help but imagine what a spectacular career acting and, I suspect, later directing motion pictures. His loss was criminal.

Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones! But not that I can’t see Harrison as anything other than Indiana Jones, it’s the other way round for me! I heard a rumor that they my be rebooting the Indiana Jones franchise, but with a young actor… Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones to me, and anyone else playing that part will just look like a second-rate imitation! (My parents are 80’s/90’s film freaks! Almost every film we have ever watched {other than films my father was involved with} was released between 1984 and 1995!) and as my father is a software engineer who works in the motion picture industry, we watch a LOT of films!
