Would you invite people you might not necessarily agree with just to spice things up? Or keep to the like-minded?

Who is coming to your party?

I was just watching some clips from the queens parties of past and had me pondering who I would invite to my own.

I am going to exclude me and throw a party for my mother, so she doesn't count.

So, there'd be:

My Mom [79]
Me [59]

But the 10 famous guests are famous only to my mother and me...

In order by date of birth...

1. Aunt L [Mom's maternal aunt, died in 1980 at age 80]
2. My Grandmother [Mom's mother, died in 1958 at age 52]
3. My Grandfather [Mom's father, died in 1974 at age 68]
4. Uncle F [Mom's 18-years older half-brother, died in 1963 at age 38 when I was an infant].
5. Uncle B [94, Mom's 15-years older brother]
6. Aunt Je [Mom's 11-years older sister, died in 2014 at age 82]
7. Aunt E [Mom's 1-year older sister, died in 2005 at age 63]
8. Aunt Jo [Mom's twin, died in 2000 just before turning 57]
9. My Dad [died in 2003 at age 63]
10. My Sister [55 but Trumpster married to a Proud Boy, so brain dead.]

My mother is 19y 8m older than me and, with my late aunt, her twin, was the youngest child in her family. Her only living relative besides my sister and me is my 94-year-old uncle.

My mother is not doing well and I am no spring chicken either, so we are both on the way out.

So, I would want my mom to be able to have a family reunion of her family because I know it would give her a catharsis. It would for me too.

And I would want my mother to be able to introduce me and my grandmother to each other since we never met. My mother had just turned 15 when her mother died of leukemia. I'd also want her to introduce me and my Uncle F to each other since he died shortly after I was born.

My sister being there would be a waste. I wouldn't want her there (we are estranged), but would include her for her sake to see our father again and primarily for my mother's sake.

So many of us have died. When you reach my age, you begin to welcome death because you have this feeling of no longer belonging among the living because the living were not important to you when young, but those who were important to you when young are long gone. You want to "go home" and be with them again.

This is why kids are important - they force you to stay focused on the present and future.

I don't have kids, so I don't have those bonds to the future. I am almost ready to go home now too.

Language concerns would be the biggest for me at the party in this hypothetical, but let’s pretend if we can resurrect the dead that they all can understand each other. Sooooo…. Dr Michael Worobey for sure. Anyone that can make a fascinating study into the origins of swine flu a laugh a minute has got to be invited. I will be forever great-full for his account of the WWI German plan to dress soldiers up in cowboy suits to invade Canada as a lead into swine flu in WWI!
