Sad, because I liked his work.
Not surprised, because the US black population has a horrendous rate of heart disease. The statistics can be found on line, as can papers that have been written on the subject.
A strong predisposition toward heart disease appears to be written into Negro DNA. Add the sterotypical US black diet and a huge rate of blacks dying young of heart disease should not be a surprise.
The sad part that it is largely preventable by diet, exercise and targeted medical care.
Just heard about it, due to this question.
R. I. P, only 59 and young age to die - a cardiac arrest according to his Wiki.
I've heard Gangsta's paradise and I know he sang the theme to Kenan & Kel, but I don't know any of his other songs, I don't think.
I heard yesterday. I have to say he's not like most rappers that get caught up in drama or end up dead from gang violence. So yeah he was pretty alright guy

That's sad. He wasn't even that old. What even happened? When i first your post the other day i thought you are just asking what if, not like it already happened...
I've known him from Kenan & Kel and liked his music as a kid, but i didn't know much about him.
I am not a rap fan and did not care for "Gangster's Paradise", but I did love "Fantastic Voyage" and that changed my perception of rap. I have come to realize now that part of Coolio's success was that he often used old funk hits to help inspire his music. He and I are the same age, so I appreciated that which is why I liked "Fantastic Voyage" so much - it was like classic funk more than rap.
I will miss him.
I am sorry to hear he passed away. Just read the article. I wonder did he ever make up with Weird Al. I never understood why he was so angry about the remake of Gangster's Paradise.
I felt sad! His gangsta paradise music track is one of the songs that defined the 1990s for me, musicwise.
Sad he was a fun unproblematic rapper. Never heard him call anyone bitches or hoes, no racial slurs in his raps , just all fun. Can't say that for rappers today.
I love and will miss Coolio. I grew up on him in the 90s and he always make his fans dance and feel in the Westcoast funk when he did his Thang. RIP Coolio 🙏
I don’t know a lot about him but his music always seemed to have a positive message. It’s sad that he died. The world needs more people who want to make things better instead of dragging everyone down.
Yea it was sad to hear. I was just Watchin him in Red Water again like a month ago
It was a little surprising. I remember Coolio from wayyyyy back in the early 90s but can't say I ever listened to his music.
Just saw a few days ago on Jimmy Kimmel. Wow what happened? What is the cause of death?
Wait, he died? Sonic fans aren't going to be happy.
Heard about it first on the web. Then on the local news (in L. A.).
Funny that I just started listening to his stuff in the last year or so.
Positive: he was born two months before me.
I have surpassed one other of ''us''.
I forget what TV show he was on but he always scared the crap out of me.
I'm a bit bummed out. I like he's songs. They're way better than the music we have now.
WAIT THAT'S WHY I'VE BEEN SE-
