What do you think about the Mario movie based on the trailer?

I was skeptical of it...

Because I could not imagine how they could write ANY story from the Mario universe (being as random and chaotic as it is) that is worthy of a theatrical movie. I had the same feeling about Sonic, though even more so since it was live-action... but it turned out OK.

Then there's Mario's voice actor, Chris Pratt.

Part of me knew that they would go this route. Because how could they bring Charles Martinet (the original voice actor for the video games) to reprise his role and perform the Italian accent/stereotype for the film... and make it work? Part of me is rather sad he won't sound like how he did in the video games, but I guess I understand why they went with this decision. But I did see Charles Martinet's name in the credits... so I'm curious to see what role he plays in this movie.

Either way, after seeing the Trailer, it does look rather nice. I'd like to see it.

There never were nor will be a good movie based on a video game. No! Sonic the Hedgehog was not a good movie.

I would defiantly see this with my nieces and nephews next year. Chris Pratt as Mario is alright, though Jack Black as Bowser is great casting. The animation looks great like the Nintendo Switch games.
