if we are going to make it about semantics... and take the word creature literally
then we also have to take the word dehumanizing literally as well
and in this case no, calling someone a creature is not dehumanizing since you're not entirely denying their human condition
maybe it can be see as demeaning, at the most... if we make it about one's "dignity"
and then... you do have intent, if the intention is to be demeaning towards someone or just an attempt of well intended flattery even if poorly executed by the perspective of some, those are two different things
Nope, but i can see how ignorant folks would feel that way. We quite literally are creatures. Peculiar creatures at that.
i was going of the definition of creature

I guess it depends on the context... he is a magnificent creature versus he is a scary creature. All in the adjectives...
KIK
So, if I refer to someone who stays up very late as "a creature of the night", I've dehumanized them?
That’s not the question, the question is calling someone a creature dehumanizing?
Ok then, no, it's not then.
not if ur describing subhuman behavior it's not.
I prefer to be referred to as the beast that I am, but creature is fine I suppose.
No no no no, here us Giga Chads (just me) use that to refer to a living thing which we know almost nothing about, usually their name being part of that. What you’re thinking about is “parasite”
It depends on the context. It seems a strange thing to call someone.
Depends on how you look at it and how it was used in a sentence
Depends on how you mean it if it's a sexy way with a partner might not seem bad might be a turn on
We are as creature as creature can get baby. To deny being an animal is dehumanizing.
No I don't think so.. there are good creatures too.
What do u think 😒 🙄
Lol and is that a movie
Depends on the context. Sometimes we say a man is "an animal" to refer to his physical prowess. Which needless to say isn't dehumanizing.
Give me a sentence or context example.
We are all creatures, human creatures.
How exactly was it used in a sentence
In any context
I'm going to say in the worst case yes
Is calling someone a human decreaturizing?
Not when people behave like one
And what is creature defined as?
Ya it is
