Not very, considering my general board game enthusiasm and proficiency. So much of high-level chess comes down to simple pattern memorization, which bores the snot out of me. Never tried Fischerrandom; I might enjoy that more. The endless delays of waiting for my opponent to make their move grate on me, too.
Now, specific variants are a different matter; I was absolutely FANTASTIC at Kung-Fu chess, but that website is LONG gone.

I'm okay. I know how to play. I can have an evenly matched fun game with my oldest son. Third son kicks my butt. Can play with guys in a park if it came to that.

If I were Russian I'd be laughed at. Here I am basically right at the cusp of Class A and Expert with an ELO that fluctuates around 2000. I've drawn IM's twice, but usually lose (like 0-14-2 record) against people that highly rated. When I was on Chess. com it was higher, but that is not real world.

Better than average. I can think about 6 moves ahead I probably would be better if I tried more.
I don't play it often and still forget sometimes how knight moves lol. So if I put my mind to it probably could be great at it.
