Sacrifice Terrified Until their one last breath Then you cry You cry When they die Crumbs of fear In their smiles Lullaby and hold you When you cry You cry When they die This is the first and last time, Tell me the reasons why, We are the ones, You have left behind? Remember, We’ll follow you, But we must serve the time. Out of mind or out of spite Flirting with your own demise So blind Should you bear that heavy cross Or lay it down, accept the loss Decide Racing time Waiting in the line Disinclined This is the first and last time, Tell me the reasons why, We are the ones, You have left behind? Remember, We’ll follow you, But we must serve the time. Mirno spi dok ne krene da sviće Mesec nek ti čuva miran san Sada ti je potreban Sacrifice Terrified Until their one last breath Then you cry You cry This is the first and last time, Tell me the reasons why, We are the ones, You have left behind? Remember, We’ll follow you, But we must serve the time

Well these are easy to interpret.
mourning a loss of a loved one.
Questioning why. Serving a sentence of being in/ on earth, while the loved one is supposedly in a better place not succumbed or liable/obligated to follow/ be under the “unwritten laws” of separational grief/ separation anxiety. They supposedly can see us and be near us, but the opposite isn’t so.
Underlining theme is found in the common lines of: “Tell me the reasons why” basically this deep internal question being vocalized: why is death a thing. Why must loved ones be separated and this agony is shown in the other line of “you cry, you cry.” The person crying is implied as the writer of the song, and then him or her being the one who has to see their loved one pass on, and cope with that.
They mention the bearing of the cross because Jesus bore his cross before death, and on his journey to die,
so on the likes of this,
the dying loved one must bear their cross of: any symptoms or feelings of physical pain, and any other sort as a result of being sickly, just before their final hour/breath.
“Bread crumbs of fear” being traces of fear in their smiles,
as they try to comfort/ lull “lullaby” their loved ones to a certain calm demeanor when it usually is, and should be, the other way around, I suppose.
Sometimes those on their death beds try to be strong and comfort the ones they leave, but many times it works the other way around as well.
Singer/song writer is possibly questioning this life here because they may believe in the afterlife and wonder why not just stay/originate there because of the mention of racing time and waiting in line and following in the line. It’s either a question or sort of despair on things a bit.
The flirt with Demise can be also poetically written as a waltz or banter, basically a back and forth of wondering when the sickened loved one is going to breathe their last breath. It’s an “uncertain dance” that is often described/felt as painful/ confusing/ stressful.
Maybe these lyrics were easy for a lot of us to interpret because we all can relate or sympathize with/to death, in some form.
Just because they’re easy to interpret doesn’t decrease their value and the meaning to the writer.
Do I always like to interpret lyrics? Not always. Sometimes.
Some songs you can try to find the original intended meaning, or find an interpretation of your very own. Through your lens/ perspective etc.
It’s like an art canvas. Either see if for what it really is (intended to be), or see it from a lens of how you view the world and your own life. 😊👌
A Serbian musician and screaming makes me think of Bosnia and those times in history? I like the sounds and transitions into three different stages and styles. I hear Persian string in there too and the Muslims in the Serbian/Bosnia area were plentiful...
