No- it always struck me as cruel; a tree is a living thing, after all. What I MIGHT do, if I ever felt a need to declare love, is write my name in trees- plant them so that it spells our initials out from the air. Less destructive, and more confusing to low-flying aircraft and birds. It probably wouldn't last in that shape, plants being what they are, but still...

No, I carved my initials and the initials of a girl I liked into the handrail on a pier. I used to think about her every time I was there. One year the handrails were replaced. A few years later the whole pier was torn down. I guess eventually everything we have done on this planet will be erased.
No, why: for a relationship that's not guaranteed to last? I don't need a tree constantly reminding me of a potentially bad mistake. Seems like an insult to the tree more than anything 😂
One day I'd like to do something a bit different and romantic once I feel extremely secure in the relationship and have "faith" that it might last.

We don't care if people consider us cheesy, corny and/or mushy (or even cruel & inconsiderate).
Our front & backyard trees have our carvings on 'em.
It sounds romantic and I've never done that. I don't care about creating physical reminders of people I love unless it is a gravestone for a dead person.
I would never do that... it harms the tree. I have written our names (inside a heart) in sand on the beach... my SO liked that.
Yes I did this when I was younger, I also wrote his name EVERYWHERE when I was in school. Lol
No, and I plan to never do it. That barbaric deed mutilates the tree.
