+1 yJazz... the kind where they just make the shit up as they go. It's like a jumbled mess done from overly caffeinated people just running up and down the scales. Organized Jazz I have no problem with... it's that jumbled shit that's all over the place that drives me nuts.

There's cool jazz, and there's shit jazz.

@SpringValley Yup you found the stuff. Always reminds me of two drunk homeless people trying to jerk each other off in a public bathroom.

... and you're right, there is where it seems to be done right with a good amount of structure, then there's that shit stuff.

I made the mistake of graduating from a music school. I suffered through a ton of shit music. In general, music schools are filled with liberals. But even then, you have the crazy liberals. These are the ones that got on stage and pounded rocks, together, and expected you to be intelligent enough to enjoy it. Those people won't make it in the real world, because they have nothing of value to offer.
- +1 y
@SpringValley I'd bet... I play nothing but Metallica and Amon Amarth so I'm not a musical genius by any stretch... but some of the music I've heard put out there actually hurts to listen to. I really can't stand it when someone is just doing something retarded and not even keeping time and then people celebrate it as if it's some genius stuff. I've done it myself just doing some ad-lib over some techno music and I was getting compliments when I was thinking they'd notice I was just being a dickhead.

Hate is such a strong word. However, I really don't like rap. And most country music grates on me.

+1 yI don’t feel strongly enough to “hate” any genre. I just don’t care some. I guess country music would probably be my least favorite of the usual genres. I’m sure I’d dislike some other weird category more, I’m just going with the major ones. But yeah, I don’t like the whole twangy tone, and that whole culture is just very un-relatable to me, with all respect to it. Just don’t know anything about it, and it doesn’t feel like a vibe I’d generally be into, or the folks like that wouldn’t be into me, haha, so I’m not drawn to it. I guess I can get a little into some of the old school “outlaw” country, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, those guys. It’s more the “stadium” country that turns me off. I’m sure exceptions to the rule could be found though. Good tunes are good tunes👍 To be fair, plenty of classic country music was rebooted later in other genres like R&B.
Actually, quick side story related to that: I went to see Boyz II Men in concert a few years ago. They were talking to the audience for a minute, and they told a story about how they turned down a song they were presented with by their label, and then the dude was like “…. and you’re gonna be blown away when I tell you what song it was…” But then he delivered the punchline on it, and I had never heard of the song in my life, lmao, but apparently it was a major, major, major country hit, I’d assume back in the 90s, and they were lamenting passing it up. Wish I knew the song, the story would be way better😂 But the point is: these songs can be interchangeable and stylized to the genre, so that’s pretty cool to think about. Makes me think of other music, and how it might sound in a different style.
10 Reply Reggaeton, there are few good songs in that genre, but the vast majority are rubbish. I have even read on the internet that there are studies that confirm that reggaeton causes cognitive deterioration. The lyrics are macho and they also talk about violence (not all of them, but the vast majority do), and due to the pronunciation when they are sung they seem to have been sung by someone with mental retardation, stupid nonsense phrases in Spanish with words in English to describe things sexual like: "Le gusta lo kinky nasty" (She likes it kinky nasty), "Y aunque sea fancy se pone cranky si lo hago romantic" (And even if it's fancy she gets cranky if I make it romantic) or "Kinky, nasty y aunque sea fancy" (Kinky, nasty and even if it's fancy). My driving school teacher hates it. Even small children listen to reggaeton, it will make them mentally retarded.

I also read that reggaetón and trap cause teenage pregnancy, and I also think that reggaetón makes young children interested in sex and sexualized at very early ages, like wearing very revealing clothes at 10 years old for example. And I also think that when they dog they look stupid or vulgar.
I don't know what it's called but the best way I can describe it is, the kind of music that the "hey there Delilah" dude sings. It's like an angsty/ballad/soft rock kind of music and it annoys me.
Like some of the music that was in the show The O. C. Loved the show, hated the music.10 Reply
+1 yI can't particularly say I hate them but boring music is one I hate because anything that moves me is good music.
But my country has the worst musicians so I don't listen to their music instead I go for naija, American music and so on
10 ReplyI wouldn't say hate, but not my cup of tea.
island Boys, Kid Rock, Justin Bieber, Wanna be country singers/stars. Reality shows pertaining to singing such as American Idol, TV just needs to stop with that stuff. Id rather see a new and up coming star doing their own performance on there own merit.
