Have you seen the new Elvis movie?

I'm watching it now and am not impressed. They are totally missing a lot of his career. It's also excessively flashy as a lot of Baz Luhramann's movies are I think.

No all these movies about singers are the same, written the same and no doubt there's a scene where he has to go on before some then big artist and kills it. You know a scene where Jerry Lee Lewis has to go on before chuck Berry and sets his piano on fire or johnny cash has to go on before somebody and set his guitar on fire etc. This movie has been made so many times.

The Jerry Lee Lewis thing did actually happen, but his words weren't as nice in real life. He actually called Chuck Berry the N word

I watched parts of the Elvis story on Netflix and I liked the way they portray Elvis as a generous and kind person who loved to give gifts to others. I do not know much about his life outside the movie so I can't say whether its real or not.

The trailer wasn't appealing enough to motivate me to watch it.

If it ever gets offered free of charge on Netflix (or elsewhere), I'll probably watch.
