Do you think is ridiculous for celebrities to hide their romances when it is obvious they are dating?

and there is proof the couple (both celebrities or with non celebrities, applies to both) is indeed dating and in a relationship but they keep denying it?

I mean proof like photos, videos, etc where the couple is not even aware they being filmed or they are not aware there are pictures of them together and still to the media they do not confirm they are an item or deny it either.

I mean if you are indeed dating someone, why aren't you proud you have someone in your life?
