Do you prefer movies or books?

As much as I love a good film, there is nothing quite like curling up by the fire with a good book 😌

I mean for the experience books of course. I like movies because of their interpretation of the literature. Like anyone who has read The Lord of Rings knows that some of the characters in the book undergo a transformation. Like Gandalf.

In the books, Gandalf is an extremely powerful wizard and he doesn't dabble as much in human thoughts and emotions as his onscreen counterpart. And he was not less powerful than Sauraman. He let Sauraman take over the Wizard's order because he felt his time and efforts would best be used elsewhere.

But it was pleasant to see a rendition of Gandalf who could be scared and uncertain at times.

But there aren't many books I like where I have seen a movie version that could approach my reading experience.

Anime and books. Books are good, but anime is better. But anime does not give you the knowledge a book can. So books in the end.

I love both. I used to read everyday and watch movies every weekend but now sadly I don't get time to read often. I enjoy reading bit more than watching movies though. I like how everything is told in detail in the novel and how I'm free to imagine characters and the places.. I like my mind being put to a good use, lol.

Books,  I usually fall asleep watching a movie if i don't pause it every few times. Books let me imagine everything too, movies completely changed how I imagined a character or scene sometimes

Reading is far better to me.

It’s rare that a movie is better than a book if that is it’s source. Your own imagination adds to a story when reading it vs watching something too. Books you feel a part of the story as they suck you into them.

The movie the client (as example) superseded the book by far though. Excellent script changes and casting.

I used to prefer books in high school, but since I’ve been in college, the only reading I do is textbooks, research papers, and “proofread”. But thank god for Netflix.

I think I preferred books a lot more when I was younger because I was still learning to read so I enjoyed it more. Now I just want to watch t. v. or the movie because I've already learned how to read. Can you "unlearn" reading?

Books. For some reason, I don’t enjoy watching movies alone, with my friends or someone else, yes I do. But if I am alone, I prefer the books.
