Books then movies

Depends on the story. Something like Everything, Everywhere, All At Once was made to be told in a visual medium because it would be so much less cohesive in writing. But there are also plenty of stories better told in writing. The issue is people like to compare the two but there isn’t really a comparison, they’re simply two different mediums of story telling. Movies based on books are their own stories, usually as interpreted by the directors and script writers. Books are the same, finding the right way to tell your story depends on the person telling it.

Books are usually better than their movie counterparts with a few exceptions. I watch more movies than read books however
