Do you prefer books or movies?

Depends on the quality of the book. If it’s good material then I prefer the book. So much more detail and my mind paints the picture of the landscape behind the action and it doesn’t cost as much as the movie.

it does aggravate me when a director thinks he knows better than the author about what the audience wants. To dumb down content in order to pull off a stupid joke that might make the kids giggle but turns a serious character into a clown.

What about Ken Follet? Perhaps the greatest Novel of all times? Pillars of The Earth? Eddie Redmayne did it to it. But there are greats that are who? Regular English folks who do the undertaking. It's not a recreation, it's not a "documentary", it's straight up English folk who live the LIFE of being in 1500's times, to Victorian Times. They relive it for all of us. They show us how life was lived in the 1500's until now. Who funded them to live this so called "LIFE of Luxury," which wasn't?

I do not read, much...

my mind is the worse for novels and stuff... every single time I try to read about, especially those of fiction and fantasy, my imagination will kidnap my mind entirely, I would need just one line of a book and then I will start daydreaming about such scenario, and I do start seeing it in my mind to extreme vivid and detail lmfao

I have read entire pages of books aloud, while still stuck and daydreaming in the first lines of a story and making my own story in my head.. never in my life I have been able to control this that much, so it does take me a long time to get through a book, makes it nor worth it

this also happens to me with movies, but it is a lot less, because the visuals and sound and will keep my imagination at bay a bit more, but I can still get lost in my own take and imagination, this is why I prefer Netflix to the movies lmfao, I can just rewind and catch up on what I was seeing and hearing, but I was not actually watching and listening because of my wandering mindset

and yes, it would also happen to me while talking with people, however this last one I am able to control it, otherwise I would have no real friends, just the imaginary ones lmao

Books. It's rare for a screenwriter to get it right. Even in the circumstances where the movie is fantastic? They screw it up so hardcore from the original book it makes you wonder why these people even have that job. They purposely try to think they are so clever to make it different, simply because they want to be different and original. It's bulocks. They can always do a better job. But they don't

Books should average 400 pages in my mind. It doesn't work that way. The best novels of all time are 1,000 page beasts. From the get go, too many a book are doomed from the get go.

One movie for an example that is great is Misery. A 310 page book. Yet, they really screwed over several things where they had no need to. None the less, in my mind that was one of the best book to screen scenarios. Wise Guys was another great book to Movie. The ALMIGHTY classic of Good Fellas. For all intents and purposes, that was my favorite. The Silence of The Lambs was another great one. Few and far between, but they are indeed out there. No Country For Old Men too.

Books, not saying I dont like movies but it was rare, that a movie was better than a book it was based on. Also there are more books that fit my genre than good movies.

I love to read I find if there is a movie that is based off of a book it never does it any justice. Kinda ruins the book for me. If that makes sense.

Even though I do like books a lot and I think movie adaptations of books were usually worse than the books, I’d still say I prefer movies. I’m just a big film buff I guess.
