What is your favorite book of all time and your favorite character in it?

My favourite book is probably Lessons by Gisele Bundchen (Or a ghost writer she hired) and my favourite character was the dog she bought. She made a mistake and thought she was buying a $300+ dog when it was actually $3,000+… she missed a zero while looking at the price. The only complaint I have with the book is, it’s not something you can read twice. Books like Grit or French Lieutants Women, are good, even if you read them a hundred times, but not lessons.

My favorite book is "Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. Since it's based on a true story, I can't really say that she's my favorite character.

I'm torn between two.

The first is Tom Builder in Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth.

The other is Kit fielding who can be found in several of Dick Francis' novels.
