Just read an article on anime pedo shit, which I’m absolutely sure isn’t mainstream. But got me thinking about the average popular comic/anime stuff, and there’s def a theme.
I’m leaning toward “boys will be boys” as they are the main readers.

So, I read a lot of comics myself. The thing is a sexy girl is not a problem in on itself, neither is a sexy men because that is not rare either. The problem would more be how it is portrayed and if there was any use except let the comic artist draw a sexy person half naked and show the audience nearly porn.
When I read a comic and there is a scene and I have have to think: Why is this in here? It doesn't fit, it feels weirdly placed and why is she wearing close to nothing? When the whole purpose is to include a female hero to make her look sexy beside the protagonist for example. That is a problem!
Not because she is their but she is reduced to being sexy. Does the character have a story and is also just looking good? Or is she included to get a sexy picture in the comic?
No they do not have a sexy girl problem. If anything, American comics have a SJW problem, and maybe a lack of other generes than Super hero stuff problem.
The biggest problem anime has outside of Japan, is that a lot of the good stuff don't leave Japan. Including lots of quality family shows based on classic books that has not been aviable in English. Some of it is out in French and German. The English anime industry also have a problem with "translators" who are more interested in inserting their own agenda rather than actually translating. Manga and games also have that problem. Also have a problem with a lot of English speaking anime reviewers seems to not like sexy stuff.
Fun fact: Disney comics are extremly popular in Europe! Very mainstream.
The classic stories by the American writers Carl Barks and Don Rosa are well worth checking out.
Another thing you might not know, anime not aimed at family or kids is NOT mainstream in Japan. They are at TV at night, the producers pay the TV channels to air them the same way commercials are paid for, its badically made by nerds for nerds.
Yeah sex sells. Not denying that. There are lots of trash aimed at women too. And good stories are not necessary majority, most of its aping whats popular.
Anime and comics have sexy women for the same reason they have sexy men in em because viewers like something nice to look at. And it draws eyes towards the product.
Plus I mean really how many super hero’s and main characters in comics or anime have you really seen that aren’t attractive male or female.
Not many.
Just because a woman is strong and powerful doesn’t mean she needs to lose the essence of being a woman which is her beauty and femininity.
its kinda the opposite of male super hero’s where they are kinda expected to be these handsome chiseled guys.
plus let’s be honest your more likely to stop and look at a comic that has someone like Power Girl on the cover then you are a cover that has a woman who looks like a potato on it.
Whether it's anime or comics, both are going to be sexual to a certain degree. I don't think they have a sexy problem at all. Most of those are for teens and adults.

Not a fan. Girls read comics too
Well if you've ever seen those comic con things you see that it's the girls who want to dress in sexy cosplay like their favourite comic book superheroine. Reality is that women want to be objectified by men espicially the hot young sexy things, the only feminists complaining are the fat ugly ones.
no it doesn't. there's sexy guys in comics and anime too. heck those beauty standards in male characters are way more unrealistic than that in female heroes. just look at He-Man for example
Those are two different subcultures, you uncultured swine.
Anime and comic fans are as different as trans and furry communities.
Radical feminists and religious fanatics think that it problem, it called fanservice and it okay.
No, I think they've got the sexy angle covered.
Simples...
It is indeed super rebonkulous that their armor is a bikini but ehhhh
Good for me though, another flaw of theirs at my disposal to throw a Heavy Counter at.
Strong females for the boys to read about
Boys are being boys
