Has this ever happened to you at home?

You’re either relaxing, reading, or watching television when suddenly you hear something fall or crash in a hallway. You go look to see what fell or maybe what the cat caused to fall, and you see nothing. Nothing on the floor at all.
This has happened to me 3 times since living here. It’s not the neighbors; the noise comes from the hallway by my kitchen, and it happened again last night. Spooks?

Yes, that has happened a few times in our house. Like you, initial investigation reveals nothing but we usually find something has slipped or fallen later. Sometimes it only moves an inch or two, so it looks like nothing happened, yet it made noise doing it,

I never find anything. I go look where the noise came from thinking something fell for sure, but nothing at all.

Not really but it could be temperature differences between materials in the house and release the stress and make a big noise or it’s poltergeist

My condo is pretty modern, so it’s nothing like that. These are more bangs and crashes of things on the floor.

If you’re in a condo then it’s your close neighbors, probably things they are doing but it travels

Well, normally I do hear them upstairs, and by the front door. But each time this noise was like something that fell, or like a crash, in the kitchen, some place near the hallway that leads to the garage. It seems too close.

Sometimes sound travels in ways that you wouldn’t think and could be somewhere completely different

Yes. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I awoke to what sounded like a large branch landing on the roof and sliding off. The next day, we investigated (really looking for damage). No branch. Nothing.

My cat has made things fall before too, if she’s in a wild mood and zips everywhere. Normally she sleeps all day.

I've heard noises before, but if there's nothing there I usually just think it's a pipe expanding or parts of the house shifting due to the wind.
