Why is it that someone who American Idol rejects can become a superstar?

I just found out that Lauren Daigle was on the show twice and she did not advance that far either time. But meanwhile, she is like one of the biggest Christian music stars now

Often those people miss depth and the individual goes unnoticed. There are so many pulling at the judges that it would be easy to do though. At least she made it through her trial and has come out better and stronger for it.

She lies to protect her reputation and she sings about problems too much

She sings songs about how she feels guilty, how she feels ugly but God comforts her, how she has stress and does not know why God is distant. To me that is secular and not religious music. Religious music is about honouring God, not about bragging about your problems and trying to inject other people with your traumas.
