I remember when they performed their song Muskrat Love at the white house for the president. They were told to stop the song and leave.
It was a pretty sexy song. I didn't care for it at all.
Now about America, I am a big fan and still pop their CD in to listen to them. Love the song Ventura Highway.

That 1976 song by Captain and Tenille is a cover version actually.

America did a cover of it in 1973.

I remember both, but I do not remember the original which was never a hit.
