Name one tv series or movie that you liked watching as a child but now you find it cringey/creepy?

There are some cartoon shows that I would watch as a little kid and some whej I was 8 or something and now when I look back. I am like "Woahhhhh. This is weird. I can't believe I watched more than one episode of this cringey/creepy show!!"

For examples, I watched few episodes of Teletubbies as a toddler even though they look pretty creepy. I used to watch even Courage The Cowardly Dog which now I find too weird... Even The Gargoyles.

What was I even thinking? 🫣😳

I don't know of any that I find cringeworthy or creepy but there ARE a couple that I find a tad stupid, sometimes. I'm in the middle of watching, "Lost In Space", season 3. Season 1 had a few stupid moments, mostly towards the end of that season. season 2 had a number of stupid story ideas and a few dumb things that happened in them. For instance, Dr. Smith and Will are in some western town and when the barroom full of people find out that they are not who they've pretended to be, they run out front and start to head off to this space ship they stole to get there and then Will decides it'd be better if they took a couple of these life-sized mechanical animals parked outside the bar to make a more hasty escape! So, they run BACK to the bar to get them and, at first, they don't know how to operate them!! This chews up more of their time until they figure them out. Then, these animals only go about 2 miles an hour!! They could've EASILY made it back to the ship in half the time!! So, instead of the bad guys chasing them on foot, THEY get on some of the other animals there to chase them!!
Season 3 has way more problems and stupid story lines!! In season three, they nearly ALWAYS start out by traveling through space! Then they land somewhere, encounter unfriendlies that plan to do them harm and then the show ends when they win over the evil people. Next episode, they're back in space!! In the first 2 seasons, their biggest problem was getting enough fuel to get off whatever planet they're on! Season 3, they have no problems with that and ALWAYS have enough fuel!! And, on nearly every planet, they spend a LOT of time setting up weather stations and communication towers but, they never stay ON the planet long enough to ever use any of them!! And, WHERE are they getting all this gear?

Another one I saw was when I was a kid, Christmas morning, they ran some movie called, "Alakazam, The Great", a cartoon about a Chinese monkey that becomes a king. I don't think I ever saw it more than twice back then. I recently found a copy on YT and watched it. I got as far as the fight scene with Jonathan Winters playing the part of the pig and it was just too stupid to even bother watching the rest of it!! I also wasn't a fan of Peter Hernandez (Speed Racer) doing the voice of the monkey. "Speed Racer's" another stupid cartoon!! I hated it in the `60's and it's even worse, now!! It belongs in The Masters Of Cheese Collection!!

When I was a kid, there was a lot of implicit sexism and mild racism (fortunately not much). So, some things that were said or acted that I would not have considered a problem back then - I wouldn't even have thought about it as a problem - are things that, now as an adult, are not appropriate and the far left would go apeshit over.

Here is an example...

This is "Pups is Pups", a 1930 Little Rascals short film that was selected in 2004 for induction into the National Film Registry of "films that are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

In the film, there is a want-ad request for "Ten (10) Colored Boys between the ages of 7 and 10 to act as pages at the National Dog and Pet Show." When Farina (a Black boy) thinks the job will pay $200, the other kids imagine what they'd do with the money. The little Asian kid says he'd "buy a whole lot of chop suey" and the two little Black boys say they'd get "watermelon" and "pork chops".

In the 1960s and 1970s when I watched these films on TV, I didn't think about any of that. (To me, the memorable part about the film is Weaser's 5 puppies and the girl constantly jumping in the puddle.)

I still love this film - it was probably one of my favorite Little Rascals films, but there's quite a bit of racism in there. I am not defending the film, but the nice thing about The Little Rascals is that they DID have multiple ethnicities and no one was spoken down to because of their ethnicity; all the kids were equal and friendly to each other.

not really, most of what I watched if I liked it I still like it now and the ones I thought were weird back then I still think are weird today lol

I always thought teletubies were weird
I still think they're weird, they don't teach your child anything either just keeps them entertained without any learning being done in my opinion.

I tried to put it on one time for my little nephew but I changed it as I realized it's still has no purpose other than keep a child entertained if they are into it anyway.

I used to watch power rangers the original cast, I always thought the fighting was so fake and annoying, the only reason I watched it was for the little story lines like Tommy and Kimberly love story lol I used to always think why do they have to put all these fake robots fighting seems like little kids stuff and I felt like a grown up watching a love story lol I didn't want the robots

I still go back on YouTube seeing the episodes and think the exact same thing as I did back then.

going crazy and screaming every time Backstreet Boys song or N'sync would come on on the box music Chanel is something I look back on and think what the heck was I thinking that's so annoying lol

I watched so many things as a kid that I shouldn't have been watching because (late night tv) back in the day lol but one that always sticks out to me was an adult cartoon called Duckman... it was a weird over sexualized duck and its weird as shit 🤣🤣 but it was because I loved cartoons I would watch almost anything animated lol

Rat Patrol. Awesome WW2 series if you like action as a kid but wow, there was almost sexual assault written in as playful banter in almost every episode. I found the dvd boxed set and was excited to show my kids what I grew up on…I couldn’t watch three episodes before I threw them all in the trash

The Storyteller. Same director as the Dark Crystal (which is honestly one of my fav movies). I definitely find the Storyteller to be more creepy now... but its like a guilty pleasure :P

They’re a Thomas the Tank Engine series where they used physical objects and voiced over for them. I always thought it was super weird, it gave me uncanny feelings and I still a little baba. I found it so strange how the train’s faces would move slowly while everything else is completely still and their faces looked like clay. It was especially creepy when they looked mad. Like when you forget you’re alive

Honestly none, I have no regrets over the TV shows and movies I watched as a kid, even tho some of them I wouldn't watch as an adult, simply cause they are for kids and I'm now an adult.
