Are you excited for Eurovision this year?

The Eurovision Song Contest is an international song competition organised annually by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), featuring entries from primarily European countries. They also let Israel and Australia to complete for some reason 😂

It can be compared the the super bowl for Americans. The fanbase is passionate and wild about the contest. The contest, which has been broadcast every year since its debut in 1956 (with the exception of 2020), is one of the longest-running television programmes in the world.

I love Eurovision, I have watched it every year since 2008. However, my depression has made me not excited for the competition but after watching the 1st semi final tonight, I am more excited. What are you're thoughts? Let me know 😊

This year it actually sounds interesting. I like the band our country sends for like nearly the first time ever, after the horrible error they did last year. I am under the opinion, that our band uses one of their worst songs but asside from this, I am also interested what others send.

I can't say I am anymore excited than previous years. But there have been some great performances in the past.

You see back in '21 I opted for Italy over the popular Malta because I liked Italy more in my heart then COVID shut the Maltese act in their hotel and good old England for nil because James Arthur is an expletive at least in my opinion, turned £20 into £105

Last year was clearly Ukraine because of the war so I had £100 on it

@msmissydc Isn't there a rule that they aren't allowed to submit songs off old albums?
So if it's off a new album then bad is pretty much a given.

Could be the case and would explain stuff that happened in the past. I am not familiar with specific rules. I just learned that its not a democratic decision who they send, because there where a ton of petitions to send someone else last year, and they said that they can't change their decision based on any amount of outside voices.

OMG, I thought "Australia" was a typo until I watched BBC. I didn't know they invite non-European countries. That's kind of stupid, honestly. But if they're gonna do that, they should invite South Africa.

I'm not sure this year. France, Sweden and Finland are in the top 3 predicted to win this year. Sweden last won in 2015 so I hope Finland or France win this year. But Ukraine will definitely be top 5 ❤️
