How did you start driving?

My mom taught me to drive a stick shift when I was ten "in case something happened" She would have earlier except that's how old I was when I could reach the clutch and see over the hood.

I was about 9 and we had an old truck. I would coast it in the hayfield while others were stacking the hay.

My Dad just took me on back roads, was in high school. Then built it up to the main roads, then the town areas.

I took driver's Ed in high school and my parents took me to parking lots and quiet roads to practice. 🙂

Rental cars mostly. I would practice in those. My best friend taught me how to drive.
