Sorry to ask this, but do you even have a story if you don't have a plot?

On the other hand, maybe you have ideas for certain situations or characters. It might help to think about how these came to be, how they would interact, and, most importantly, what conflict there is or was to resolve. How would that conflict influence your characters to end up in these situations?
