This question comes in a couple of different forms. It could be the best performance of the "caped crusader" by an actor, or best Batman movie overall. A brief digression is the question of best Joker. I would say that contributes to the best overall Batman movie. With the exception of the movie Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix of course. Some will say that was still set within the Batman universe but my argument to that would be that Batman himself never appears nor is mentioned in the film. I'll also allow best voice actor to play Batman. I know Luke Skywalker did it.
Getting back to the original question of best Batman it has become one of those cliché questions often asked to celebrities in order to make them seem less pretentious along with whether they think pineapple belongs on a pizza etc. Consequentially, it is now being asked here and not for the firkst time either.
Batman is an impressively durable character in this world of monthly flavours and viral memes. For something which came out of a comic book in the first half of the 20th century to still be popular to this day is not to be sneezed at. A grown man, bemusingly ill-disguised as a bat and wearing his underwear on the outside of the rest of his clothes should be genuinely uproarious. Yet, here we are after obscene amounts of money have been spent to create multiple films telling the story of exactly that character.
Anyway, which one? Christian Bale? Michael keaton? Or perhaps even George Clooney if thats what you're into.
Want my personal opinion? No? Ok, but here it is anyway. Michael Keaton. And the two movies he played him in are the best and second best Batman movies. You may attempt to change my mind.
