It depends on peoples definetion of metal for example bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden are classified as Classic Metal but as Techonlgy and coverage has evolved the classicfication has split like you have emo metal, heavy metal, classic metal. Back in the 80s the main coverage was radio and concerts but the 90s introduce sky tv and Channels like Karrang and Scuzz then the naughtys introduce Festivals like DownLoad and Sonisphere.

Oh, so you went with the biggest artists that use clean vocals. You know if you branch out and listen to bands who use both clean "cookie monster" vocals you will actually train your brain to understand what they are saying. I am a huge fan of Megadeth and I have met just about all the most important members of Megadeth. I have met Marty Friedman 3 times. I like Metallica and have seen them live 12 times. My current hyperfixation is Lamb of God, Tool, Behemeth, and Gojira.

@MORPHEUS_12 Screaming is shit, period. That's what most metal is now. It involves screaming which voids anything else that is otherwise good.

I saw Metallica in 1989 during the Justice tour. Queensrýche was the opening act. Great concert. No screaming.

Exactly. You might find the growling and shouting and screaming repulsive, but that's what good Metalcore is all about *mostly XP*. Some may come off as revolting while others are a masterpiece!
