Twisted Bliss.
Im not sure what the mana rules are or if you can have duplicate cards but if you were allowed to have multiples of this with a slightly land heavy deck for a fast power up that would probably be very broken.
block 30ish percent of total life, at least in MTG as I remember it and you can get back lost cards, yeah, totally broken, it's this all day.
It's really good, but I haven't had a good enough player to play-test it yet. I had two guys who were helping me playtest my first set, but they were Yugioh players, not MTG players, so it was difficult to explain some rules and mechanics to them, because I admit some things can't help but be similar to MTG.
The Energy mechanics work mostly like MTG: You can only play one Energy Matrix per turn.
If I play-tested Twisted Bliss ahead of time, I could reduce it to like 3 or 4 Soul Gems instead of six, but it does need to be tested because it could have some exponential benefits which aren't easy to scale compared to other cards.
Yeah, one problem I'm having is I play MTG at nearly a professional skill level, so I need really good card players to play-test the cards, because the decks I'm designing into the set are expert level decks.
It doesn't make any sense that it has the life protecting effect and the card recovery effect.
Maybe life blocking is super common and everything has that for whatever reason?
Really though its super broken at almost any price point because it overrides a core game mechanic; having a pile where cards are removed from the game presumably exists for a damn good reason and the power of cards is going to be balanced against this idea that once played they are not coming back so to have a card which can essentially infinitely reuse the cards completely derails and devalues that mechanic, it basically doesn't exist anymore, the implications are profound, far reaching and hard to quantify.
If this is a game that you are designing I suggest you shit can this entire idea, the discard pile exists for a reason.
Loss of life "Life Decks" you are removes cards to the Exiled pile. It will be impossible to get cards back out of the Exiled pile. Some really powerful cards Exile themselves. The only way to lose is to be totally decked out, or your opponent plays a card named "Quasar" and you have no Disruption.
