Going with soulbind here. An unristricted counterspell for one ressource. If you play a controle deck anyway 4 life for an enemy is nothing, as you win with a combo or long game anyway.
Otherwise I also like suggestion not as a normal counter spell but you can theoretically counter your own cheap spell and draw two cards from it. Two for two for two mana can be worth it.
If you can ressolve epic fail you just win at this point right? I mean two turns after an opponenet is exhausted and you just countered probably an important spell from them. Yeah you should win. It is expensive thought. It can be worth it for a control deck.
