Billie Joe Armstrong, Shebang, Maude Latour, or Kim Wilde feat. Charlotte Hatherley
The first version I ever heard was this one by Kim. It's a bit different from the one you shared. I like the keyboard thing. I think I still like it the best.

Years ago, I belonged to a non-denominational Unitarian Universalist congregation. For a kid's service, I rewrote some of the lyrics and taught it to the kids. The older ones sang the main lyrics. The little ones sang the "na na na na" part, and they all sang the chorus (We're the kids in America, woh oh..."
There was bass and drums. I played electric guitar and even mimicked the keyboard riffs while hammering the beat. It turned out pretty good and was really fun.

I can start by dismissing the Charlotte Hatherley version which has a flashy production but loses the atmosphere of the original. The Green Day version is closer to the original but doesn't have Kim's vocals so that's out too. The Shebang version is fine but doesn't add anything to the original.
Maud Latour's version is the most interesting and does put a modern spin on the song, although some of the weird vocal effects are disquieting. On balance I think the original remains unsurpassed, but that might be because, like Rush's Red Barchetta, it takes me back to a better vanished time.
Definitely Green Day. The others, including the original by Kim, are about as bad as this

Kim Wilde is the only one I’m familiar with and I loved that song
I never saw it. My sister has seen it but it doesn't interest me
